It might make them think twice tbh, im mortified by yesterday- shocking scenes that have zero place in society!

I dont mind folk protesting for things they believe in but last night was folk using a tragic event as an excuse to cause violence

I thought some of the chat on here after the southport stabbings were shocking, folk believing what was put on social media before the facts actually came out and ended up with very racist view points (imo), which led me to actuallly blocking folk on here

I thought some of the discussions were very good and insight though and that was done in the right manner

Hope no1 was hurt last night, the city is a strong proud city and what happen doesnt reflect the people of the NE

Feel for the owners of the shops that were looted, the cars that were set on fire and any police office affected by last night
Let’s hope anyone decent who knew who the rioters are give there names to the police so they can check cctv footage. We then have to hope they get a minimum of 10 years in jail to put others off.

I live near the mosque that was being targeted yesterday and even my white mam got called an “Asian slut” and barged into when coming home from the shop. What happened last night was awful

I’d think twice. In fact I sort of am. Been looking at moving up if my son gets in to Durham which is his ambition but his girlfriend is of Italian and Caribbean heritage and I’d hate for her to experience the kind of prejudice that seems to exist in the region at the moment. Three years off so hopefully the country will be back to something approaching its normal welcoming and fair self by then.
We all know that the racist element is tiny, as it is in most places, and the organisers of last night's violence seem to have been 'outsiders' who travelled from various places to cause/incite the trouble in our City, as they apparently plan to do elsewhere, too, so I certainly wouldn't let that put you/them off :emoticon-0148-yes:

Some might want to try to make us believe that this element is substantial, but I think that we'll find that these are the type that want to incite trouble and spread hatred :emoticon-0112-wonde

Anyway, this is not the thread for this, lads.

Wonder if we’ve had a word with his agent to telll him that we might need to move on from him if it’s not resolved soon, timing would match up with the kinks to Ugbo yesterday.
