how many can you see more players can you see coming in, after Mendy is all done,

how many can you see leaving?

It depends on several things mate.
Has RLB seen enough in any of Hemir,Mayanda and Rusyn to see back up for Mendy? If not,do we need another striker option?
When is the likely time that Seelt and Huggins are going to be available? If it's going to be Christmas, are we covered at right back and centre back til then?
Are we receiving any "can't turn down offers" for any existing players?
Depending on all of that,I think the squad is top heavy by 5 or so players, and I would expect that many to leave.

I can't be bothered to check but, from what little I can recall, he seems to hit the ground running at his various clubs.

He's never failed to score a decent amount and doesn't have a poor injury/suspension record.

He'd hopefully have a good influence on Hemir and Mayenda well as pulling defences around for the likes of Jobe, Roberts, Clarke, etc.

We need to create a bit of panic in the opposition's defence imo, it was way too static last season.

We should also be winning more free kicks and penalties.
I hope he is the man mate. His last 3 seasons his stats look good. Before that not so much. Doesnt mean he hasnt been impacting games, but the goals and assists are not there. Sometimes though players can be late developers and strikers can take some time to develop the movement needed in the box. Not all of them are instinctive.

It may be he found a home that suited him in Caen. Sometimes players click at a club and they shine. He seems keen to come here so I am all for the signing. Just hope we arent all a bit too optimistic he will be a 20 goal a season man. He might be, but equally if he gets between 10 and 15 it will be important. One of the things the stats seem to show is his assist record is poor. Hopefully we can help him with that as if he is the lone striker he needs to be able to assist the midfielders who are joining in the box. My opinion anyway. Good luck to the lad.

I used to love the reserve games at Roker

Me too! There was a mix of players....first team not being picked, first team coming back from injury, young players hoping to impress to be considered for first team.
Competitive matches with loads of quality and interest. I knew people who would go to home matches and reserve home matches.....in fact,I seem to remember being able to buy a season ticket to include both....I'm probably wrong in that?

Yep,which brings us into the debate...not for the first time on here...:emoticon-0102-bigsm....about the value of having a proper reserve team.

I think this is the most serious our reserves (u21s) have been taken in quite a long time, last year we got the the cup final and it got quite a lot of views on youtube, quite a few of the players are well known, the reserves thread on here for example gets plenty of traffic when the season is underway. If you mean the u21 naming convention, well that's so we're eligible to join the leagues, everyone does u21 now, some of the lesser clubs still do u23 but that's considered an inferior competition.

We played Liverpool once, they played in a bright yellow strip, I had to count how many players they had on the pitch as they were so much better
