Our midfield now is a better but Amad was very very special

Clarke n neil both a lot better now, browne is better than Evans - poveda is as good as roberts imo

Amad was the xfactor in that team but i think we have more balance now

I agree with folk saying we should still be looking at a natural CDM

Yeah Clarke and Neil have improved massively.

I would rather no more midfielders until 2 or 3 go.

Squad is bloody ballooning.

I’d say we lose 3 in Embo Matete and Ekwah and then get one. There’s a bit of me wants an emerging one but one who is comfortable there. Or could that be Triantis ?

I know, it’s a shame we haven’t really exploited the loan market as well since. Has to be some great young players out there available who’d flourish in a system like ours where we want to dominate the ball and create chances

I don't think anyone would have thrived last year mind few of our own players did.

If we can bring in a CDM and CB now we are laughing, I fear they don't see a CDM as a priority though.

But are Browne and Neil together better than Evans and Neil were? They’re both 8s and one is going to have to compensate as a 6, Evans was a natural 6 much better there than the both Neil and Browne from what I’ve seen.

Rigg replacing Amad and Poveda replacing Poveda making up that midfield don’t compensate for Neil and Clarke have another season behind them imo.

I know a couple of people who work at Saitns training ground,

their interest in Clarke is genuie, as is their interest in Neil but they feel that Clarke would be easier to pry away than Neil.

a player could be added to help the deal. but until it happens its all just talk

Ian Harte ( his agent) is depesperate for Clarke to leave. as it will be his pay day too.

Clarke is settled and is loving his football again, his last big prem move didnt work out.

20-25m should be enough for him to leave

as other have said I would be more concerned about losing a Ballard/Neil than Clarke,

maybe with Clarke going Roberts might step up....

Given his career to date, I wouldn't like to rely on that happening. His form is too erratic.

Did he play much for Leicester last year? Can't say I recognise the name
Played 5 times for them 1 goal, England youth international, that’s from Google I’ve never heard of the lad personally, might be one to fill a gap while seelt recovers?

Imagine he'll be starting if we are loaning him mind.
Now that we know Ballard is staying we know it's not to replace him, maybe Le Bris just doesn't fancy O'Nien as a CB, although i'd rather not get in that debate because he's actually very good :)

Wouldnt get into our team. Only had a run in league 2 with Donny I think. Not what's needed. If it's a centre half they want it needs to be of a higher quality. Otherwise just stick with what we have or give AA a run out

I like O’Nien at centre half and think his ability with the ball is really useful coming out of defence but I wouldn’t entirely rule out the possibility he could adapt, again, to the CDM role if really needed. He’s basically stepped up to every challenge he’s had.

I know you don't want a debate but he really isn't very good.
He needs replacing
