I know York well and don't live too far away from it, if i was to move back to a City (I wouldn't) it would probably be top of my list. Has Northern character, good history (especially the pogroms) and is kept nice and clean.

Inclined to agree. Lived in Haxby and went to school in New Earswick. My mum was the school nurse at Guy Fawke's old school, hard to escape history on those cobbles.

Complete opposite for me. I'd rather Clarke go than Ballard.

I think the club will have put a price on each of them and will sell them if that price is hit. So its not one or the other. Might be neither. Might be both.

The important thing is getting the right price for that player, and then using the money that comes in in the right way.

Saw something earlier on twitter (I know) saying it's Lens that are after him.

Not been on much, so apologies if this has already been discredited.

don't think it's too hard to replace a CB especially with the money we would make if ballard was sold

It hasn't. Fishpaste says they have "major" interest in him. And they're about to sell a centre back for big money. So could well be something in it.

Really? Final third productivity is the hardest thing to replace in football, especially in the championship. Good centre backs for this league are everywhere, if Seelt was fit I wouldn't be concerned at all really.

People are mentioning £25m for him, i'd be surprised if it was more than £17m, Greaves is a better player and went for £15m plus add ons.

For a York lad, must be nice to see having Huggins and Clarke on the books?

I must say, outside of the north east, i feel most affinity with Yorkshire, especially the A1 corridor towns which I would include York in.

IF it’s true he gets a crack at champions league football too, like it or not we cannot compete with that, just have to hope for a good fee and a suitable replacement, I thought we needed a centre half anyway we’d need to imo if he does go, we have bodies there but their bodies break far too often :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Same. The thought of O’nien and trying to bed another CB in alongside him to learn off is frightening. Ballard is captain material imo and only getting better. Clarke is a one trick pony who will get found in the PL.

I think Seelt and Aji are two ready made Championship calibre centre backs, but they're not a patch on Ballard.
