Current squad depth, didn’t include Browne
I’d offload six players listed in the front 4 alone on either loan or a permanent. The front 3 plus Roberts, Embleton, Bennette.
Behind that Matete behind that replace Hjelde and Anderson. That’s a lot of space and financial room. Admittedly some may come back with a different headspace.

I’d still persist with Roberts, for now. Really hope he can put last seasons poor form behind him and kick on again.

Tell you what mind. Tell me we would have signed Alan Browne end of last season and I’d have laughed. I know he’s not a world beater but I never thought we’d land someone with a good age, a lot of experience and genuine quality too

Also represent Ibrahim sissoko big lump of a striker, pretty sure he’s on a free now too, not been linked like but we clearly like that agency so just chucking it out there :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Think he's just gone to Plymouth, read it somewhere but can't remember now

Turned down Sheff U and Coventry to come here, both had better/higher seasons than us last year.

Spot on.

For me Roberts will flourish again when we play with more space for him to run into. How often does he pick the ball up on the touchline with 3 men to beat.

If we do get Browne over the line what a good start, loads of experience from Simon Moore and now Browne.

Avoid passing, crossing or shooting to look threatening.
Cut inside after a few shimmies and gift the opposition a counter (repeat)
Talented, skilful but toothless and a liability in so many ways. Sell

The issue with roberts is his decision making is shocking, he holds onto the ball for far too long and that drags opponents to him. If he moved the ball quickly, either by playing passes or by dribbling at pace he would get isolated 1vs1 more.

He runs into crowded areas far too often, he must start attacking the back post (Ba does this really well, just then lacks composure to finish) and hes got to improve defensively

Roberts has the talent, but thats been said for years now. I really hope he turns it around here as he can be a joy to watch when hes on it

I think that's a harsh reflection. We had no one in front of him, no one making forward runs and very little support. Anyone would struggle under such conditions. Being a winger with no option of a striker to cross or pass it too and having to turn back most of the time must be frustrating as ****. He was doubled up on most games when he had the ball.
I actually think he'll have a good season this year.

Chances are if his decision making was decent he’d have never set foot in the championship, he can be unplayable but as with most wingers at this level he’s so inconsistent, Ba has every chance of taking his place imo if coached right, I forget how young Ba is sometimes, 20 year old 70 plus appearances for us already and numbers have improved last year
