It's why I'm really not keen on the Norwood signing, he doesn't compliment either Neil or Ekwah. If Neil is leaving then Norwood would be a good replacement for a season or two but I don't see the fit of them playing alongside eachother.
I think he could play with both but totally get the concern as i do worry about norwood out of possession

1 of the things we lack is someone who can control the tempo better and i think norwood will do that for us

I do worry about his ability to cover the ground tho

Browne would have still been my 1st choice, he isnt a CDM either but feel him n neil would be class as a 2 in a 4231

Neil and Browne would be one of if not the best midfield in the division I think. Browne slightly advanced being combative and covering the ground while Neil dictates would be great.

Agree on Roberts, think there's better out there for much cheaper.

Ekwah though i'd hold onto if possible. He has rare traits you don't see often in players and i'd bank on him making a bigger impact at the top level than a Clarke or Ballard. Does need to be on it more though, Mowbray said that multiple times.

If someone could get through to Ekwah that he's built like a brick ****house and to use that build to good effect against his opposite number, he'll be a hell of a player

Breaking news.

Basel want £2.1 million for Miller according to sunderlandafc news.
Also saying Crystal Palace have reached agreement for Jobe.
Might all be rubbish for all I know.

Be silly to sell now imo, value would go up again with another full season!
It would (or at least should) but if we got over 20 million for him (or close to that) we can really strengthen the squad

Sell him, use the money on Miller, potentially a Cresswell type for CB, get Norwood and Browne to strenthen CM and then use a good chunk on a quality CF then we look very good

Then if Clarke goes we focus on strengthen across the team - another Striker, a quality RM, a really quality young CDM - can learn from the likes of Norwood

No chance of all that happening like but a big sell could/should kick us on

Do you think he will kick on again this season?

I do, was it his first full season in men's football? . I think he should have been rested at times last season and think resting him would have been more beneficial to his development but I caveat all of what I have just said with really I know f all about coaching and player development <laugh>

Yeah i do, i think he could be top top draw this season but if we were to get 20 million thats massive in helping to improve the overall squad

An older head at DM seems an obvious choice seeing as we've lost Evans and we missed a player who will sit in and do that job last season, the other obvious one is a striker, a proper one who can get us double figures next season, other than that I think it will depend on who leaves and what openings that creates.

I'm not convinced the club would accept even that type of money. I honestly believe he is here as they can see him going for closer to 35-40 million after another season of two.
