This is the be all and end all for me.

Manager has to be perfect now.

It's why I've been so intrigued by the poaching of a foreign coach who has done wonders, like Marek Papzun.
Yep, its a huge appointment

Rohl is my preferred choice but the more i look into Will Still i think he could be really good for us

Get the appointment right and 4/5 signings that are ready for the championship then we have a great chance

Hopefully we keep everyone, i get we could kick on more if we sold 1 of our better players but if we have 7/8 million to spend already i think we can still really improve the squad

If clarke stays (probably unlikely but you never kmow), id be ok with selling rusyn (if he is unsettled. Say we have a budget of 7/8 million n sell rusyn for 2 million - making our budget 9-10 million. Id like us to do something like:

Cresswell - CB - £3-£4million
Mowatt or brown - CM - free
Amad - xfactor - loan
Jebbinson - CF - comp likely around £2million
Stamsfield - CF - £4 million

Styles to sign but my understanding is his fee will come off this seasons budget

Prices are rough guesses, id structure them so its performance related, i.e. the clubs we sign them from only get close to the full amount if we go up

Id sell the following to add extra to the budget:
Bass (wont get much)
Matete (500k tops i reckon)
Anderson (wont get much)
Embo (cant mind when contract is up so might not get anything)
Jewi (500k-£1 million)
Rusyn - only if hes unsettled n clarke stays

Would be a great window that, I really like Jebbison and feel like someone is going to get an absolute steal with him, quick, powerful and grafts his arse off, so much to work with there

Think Wilder said this week that they were close to exercising Jebbisons option

Fair enough, id take gelhardt as a 2nd striker option if we got someone like stansfield

I also like matanovic, playing for Karlsruher (on loan from frankfurt), as an option

12 goals in 27 games this season, played over 80 games in Germany- 6ft 4, really kicked on this season and is a player on the up who could be quality. He could have a similar impact to that of piroe when he joined swansea

Is Cresswell not in last year? I'd imagine if he's wanting away and they aren't too bothered, we could do a canny deal there.

I wonder if Mowatt and Browne will just head toward even more money, I'd love one of those to come in.

I think they've learned they've made mistakes this season they've admitted it. Shouldn't have came out at beginning of season though saying we won't be happy with play offs. We will get back on track next season I think and have a good go 3 teams coming down aren't as good as this year's either.
I do not think ambition to reach the automatics was a mistake at the start of the season, if KS had come out and said we are hoping to make the play offs he would have been lambasted by sections of supporters for having no ambition and likewise now he is being given the same treatment dor showing ambition. Sure we have not done as well as we hoped for a number of reasons but do I want my club to show a lack of ambition, certainly not as it at least shows what they are trying to achieve and what we are striving to build towards.

Was over on the Hull forum yesterday, they rate Jacob Greaves at about 20-30 million thereabouts....saying he's the best centre back in the league. I'd have to be bias and say Ballard is up there high.

My issue is the strength of the league, from tje viewpoint of the three teams coming down with masses of talent, plus your Hulls and whoever else trying to buy their way to the top...combined with us signing two teenage strikers and a winger/striker....massive miscalculation there for.

I don't think many would've moaned if he said we are looking to repeat our finish from last year given we are losing our arguably two best players.

So your saying that it is OK to accept that the club should actively say in pre season that they expect no better than the season before because 2 players have decided to leave. If we sell say Clark and Patto this year and KS says I expect us to finish in and around 13th place in the coming season you think most fans will be happy with that???

I’ve mentioned him earlier in the thread… He’s quality. Really impressed me this season. Got a lovely left peg. Seems to have the lot for a centre half.

I agree with them about Greaves being the best in the league. I think we overrate Ballard slightly.

That being said, I don't think any defender in this league goes for £20m. In fact, I don't think any players in this league will go for £20m plus anymore.

Really? You expect prices to drop?

I expect whoever wants any of our 3 lads will have to pay 20 mill.

I expect them to level off. But for centre backs £20m is absolutely the peak of what's been paid in this league pretty much, and for me, Ballard is not that. He's 25 this year and a very good Championship centre back. But he's not very young with massive potential for further development. I can see him being capable of being a Premier League player, but maybe not worth the gamble at £20m.

Fair evaluation.
