Very good player, scored 9 in 10 in Europe last season - struggled in the league last season, only scored 4

The season before he scored 15 in 16 games in belgium and before that 16 in 26 in Norway

Would be a step up on everyone else weve been linked with

I just hope it's not a pie in the sky target the club can fall back on and say we just couldn't make it happen.

We must have pulled out of the Simic deal if he's signing for Cardiff and going straight out on loan.

Sunderland will launch an audacious attempt to sign prolific Lyon youngster Gift Orban to finally solve their striker woes, Sunderland Nation understands

The Sunderland recruitment team have built exceptionally strong links within the French market, and they are confident they can pull off what would be a significant coup and sign Orban on loan.
Bit of a gamble this one but exciting non the less

Well, a lot of work to do today but if we get it right then we could end up with a very competitive side.

Even with isidor coming in I think we need another striker, 2 midfielders (likely AA and Ekwah leaving) a CB and with pembele going a full back.

so 5 additions today, that’s a lot and obviously worrries about the striker situation with targets seemingly falling by the way side.

hope they make it happen today :emoticon-0184-tmi:

To reason with the weirdness of the Gift Orban link, I reckon we've looked at players we can buy and now we are probably looking at the best players we can loan (with hopefully a clause to buy). Just my take, but I imagine it's true. It'll still not appease those who want us to spend the Clarke money right away, I'd get that frustration, but it'd be a shrewd move IMO.

Plus, the money could he spent on a left winger...

Lots to get done, just hope some of it is already done but not announced. This is as far as I can work out where we have potential ins and outs.

IN
Aleksic - Radnicki
Samed- Lens
Orban- Lyon

OUT
Pembele - Le Havre
Ekwah - St Etienne
Benette - Reading
AA ?
Ba ?
Hemir ?
Anderson ?

if true and we pull it off, I would assume if it’s a loan considering they spent a fortune on him a year ago.

Don’t think they’d allow him to go without us paying a wedge if his wages, which would take up a chunk of the money we made from Clarke/Ekwah.

some won’t think that deep into it like.
