Leicester want to sell him but from what I can tell most offers are loan to buy. Probably want a bidding war so we bid higher. Dunno if they’ll get one
Nowich arent interested
think Sheff utd are looking for cheaper alternatives
stoke dont want to pay the asking price
Luton is a possibility but they are wanting a new stadium so will they save for that over new transfers

Percy who broke the story generally gets things on the money.

if Cannon isnt in the leciester squad tonight it should be good sign

We've been after Cannon since we came to the championship,
he only went to Preston on loan dew to the fact he could stay local

My thoughts too. Every team who’ve made an offer it’s been a loan or a loan to buy and I honestly don’t think the teams involved so far have the ability right now to pay 5-7m

Yep we’ve definitely made a bid and Leicester is using it to try get more interest. It’s not gonna happen at that fee, genuinely feel like we have a lot of power now

I think the loan to buy is mitigation for his back injury. If he does well he’s worth the 5m with add ons up to 7m. If he doesn’t play he’s certainly not. Not entirely unlike the risk Southampton took on Stewart.

For me Ekwah can leave. It is the right time for him and us, if we get the £5m or so. Ekwah doesnt look to fit the Regis style at all. His stock is still ok after 2 seasons with us. My prediciton if he stays is he plays very little football and is worth much less next year. Bad for us and him. A decent move to a French or Italian side would seem best all round.

Selling players is often a gamble in the same way signing them is. We could hold on to Ekwah in search of a high fee that never comes and end up losing him on a free.

Selling him now giving us a nice little profit (even if little), but with a sell on fee for if he goes on to become the £10m+ player we all think he could be, is sensible business.

I get that we can only spend a smaller amount of any fee that comes in for him now, but actually in the bigger picture you have to include that sell on as well. If he ends up being released by St Etienne then he wasn't worth more than we sold him for anyway.

Personally I think selling him is a mistake. The slagging he got from fans for performances last season was massively OTT. He's a promising young player in a position where we are likely to have long term gaps. Last season was his first full one as a senior pro. Bumps in the road were inevitable.
Same here and what I saw in the first half at Preston, before he tired due to just coming back from injury, was very promising. He put himself about a lot more than usual as if he was working to RLBs ethics.

I thought his positioning and apparent understanding of the system was decent in that game personally as was his use of the ball.

I initially thought he’d be the one deputising for Neil on Saturday (I thought Browne was more earmarked for Rigg and Jobe’s positions, with Ekwah and Neil for the more 6 role (I appreciate it’s more fluid than that in reality)) but it seems it will be Browne and that Le Bris sees Ekwah as surplus to requirements (shows what I know).

Ekwah will never be a defensive midfielder. He doesn't have the awareness or the work rate

It’s not just about the fee we receive being reinvested back into the squad, the more player sales we bring in the higher the clubs turnover meaning the more we can spend all round I think? That £3m on our accounts is a £20k a week players wage for the 3 seasons PSR is calculated
