Rodgers cost 1.5m they sold him for 8m to his boyhood club, and Gibson their Chairman said any other club he'd have said no but how can he stand in the lads way of a dream move and make nearly 7m profit aswell all in 6 months? Whats your point?
Akpom is 30, had 1 year left in his contract and they made over 10m on him.???

I didnt realise until today Louie Sibleys contract is up this summer. I have a real soft spot for him as a footballer. One of a crop of young lads through the academy at the same time. I think he has a lot of talent, and has shown some but not all at Derby. He is a natural central midfielderz who has played a bit of a left sided role. I would be happy to see him come in and challenge for a spot tbh. Maybe an alternative to the £2m for Styles.
Loved him when he burst onto the scene - havent been as impressed with him last couple seasons tho. Maybe just needs a change of scenery as looked like a quality player a couple yrs a go

Im responding to a post about Akpom? I wouldn't have mentioned him otherwise
I know you were, but whats them getting 10 million for him got to do with anything

Sourpatch was saying they sold players for more than we did which allows them to spend more

They spent all this money in the summer? The Rodgers money hasnt been spent yet.
We picked bargains up from **** leagues up. Name one thats been a success, and that includes Pembele, Ba, from last season, Seelt and Adil?
We scurry around the bargain basement hoping to sign a gem to sell on, instead of just spending decent money on a proper player. Its not how i like to see my club being run.

My point is that they sold well which allowed them to buy players like Latte Lath. Thats how modern day lower league football works.

If you want us to compete to sign players for decent fees you have to sell.

It would be nice if you weren't so disrespectful to everyone then maybe you'd get a good discussion from people.

Folk will then moan if we sell our better players (like certain posters commented earlier about Rigg)

Honestly the club cant win when it comes to some supporters

Hopefully be a class summer, start with the manager then get some quality players in who can hit the ground running

If some people spoke normally without all the nonsense buzzwords like 'ambition' then people wouldn't get so defensive of the club and they would learn some of us are just as angry and disappointed.

We've made some pretty awful mistakes over the last 12/18 months but that's football and **** happens, all you can do is hope KLD learns and we improve off the back of the mistakes.

Football isn't a time limited game, it never ends. Not everything needs to be right now, just always need the light at the end of the tunnel to look forward to and strive towards. At the end of the day, the journey is ALWAYS better than the destination.

Well said mate

No1 is happy how this season played out, poor transfer windows played a massive part in that. Its fixable tho, recruitment in football is so hard and i probably get too defensive at times on recruitment teams as i kmow from experience how tough it is.

I hate when other clubs get praised for being ambitious, yet are doing very similar to us. There isnt 1 way to succeed in the championship, our way worked last season, it didnt this. No1 has been able to tell me what they mean by ambitious.

I like how we have progressed under KLD, but in every job ive had there will always be set backs - just makes when we succeed even sweeter

The key as you say is learning from your failure and improving it

This summer is a big one for us but we can def improve and have a very good season nxt yr

Rigg signs a deal and he’s probably instantly worth 15-20 million especially if he has a good season next year. Would love to see him and Neil play together for years to come.
I think a decent striker and a competent coach/manager makes this team so much better than it’s performed the last 5 months. Fingers crossed we get what we need

I think the problem with recruitment last year is we brought in too many potential players and not enough first team players. That could pay dividends as they big outlay might not be as big if the ones we brought last season improve and replace any we sell.

For example, it's pretty much accepted Clarke will be leaving, we have Rusyn and Mundle that could be his replacement and they have had a year and 6 months here already. That then leaves more cash to strengthen other areas.

This summer I believe we will see 4 or 5 first team ready players join with maybe 1 or 2 for the future signings.

You’re right, we really aren’t that far off mate. Being completely outthought tactically was the main reason for our troubles, absolutely no clue with regards to a plan B.

Just look at the playoff teams, we’ve beaten them all and done the double over West Brom. We have the tools but they were being put to use by the wrong people.
