This is more like it. The transfer window is eventually getting going for us. I wonder why the Simic deal is only happening now. Did he just become available or did we switch after giving up on Mendy?
I wouldnt be surprised if Simic was 1st choice all along, i think Salzburg have been in contract negotiations with him during the summer but he hasnt signed so is now available

I am quite excited about the profile of him my only worry is him and isidor are still young so will we have the experienced striker we all thought we needed?

I suppose isidor and Simic have a few senior apps under their belt

I didnt care about whether they were experienced or not, its easy to sign an experienced striker but it's hard to sign n experienced good striker

Simic n isidor have both played at a good level n have good minutes under their belts. They also have the physical profile that fits what we want in a CF - both a good size, have pace n are mobile to press n cover the ground

Be exciting to get both in if it happens

So, Isidore and Simic, then? I'd be well happy with that, much more exciting signings than Mendy imo. Both ready to do a job now but with huge potential for growth, much more aligned with "the model" than Mendy (that's a good thing, imo).

I wonder whether the club was thinking Mendy needed to come in as the senior pro to play the majority of games, with either Isodore or Simic behind him, then Mayenda as a very developmental player just getting the odd minutes here and there. But now Mayenda has shown he's ready for (and in fact, needs) more gametime, we've pivoted to these two exciting young players with a view they will share minutes a bit more evenly, along with Mayenda?

All of the fan chat about experience (and some of the rumoured club chat too tbf) was a case of looking at the wrong stuff to an extent. Experience isn't the main feature we need. What we actually all want is success. Now it can be argued that success is easier to achieve - or perhaps easier to anticipate - if you buy experience. But experience in and of itself isn't the main thing we should chase IMO. It should always be talent first.

It might not have been a case of Mendy or Simic. Maybe we’ve wanted Simic and Mendy all along but now the Mendy deal is dead we switched to Isidor?

Experience to me is just games played, these two have plenty of games played in men's football

The striker of RB Salzburg traveled to Sunderland where he is awaiting the last round of negotiations and a medical examination
The striker of RB Salzburg and the young member of the Croatian national team will probably change employers these days. Namely, as Germanijak learns, Roko Šimić traveled to England on Wednesday , where he is awaiting the final act of negotiations with Sunderland , a medical examination and the signing of a contract.
Sunderland is a member of the English Championship that started the season with a stated ambition to return to the elite club, but this was not seen in the transfer window because they brought in four players for now, but did not pay compensation for any of them. According to some information, this week Sunderland should sign Šimić and Isidor , a former Monaco youth player who played for Russian Zenit .
Šimić was part of the system of the Lokomotive football school , for whose seniors he made twenty appearances before going to Salzburg in the summer of 2021 in a transfer worth four million euros. He has a contract until next summer, and despite some rumors that he could return to HNL , that is Dinamo , it seems that the decision has been made that the striker will still continue his career on the island.
