So, we'd effectively have 3 fit centre half options with one shaky backup option who will also be expected to cover left back.

Feels one short for me. Especially when the CBs will be expected to cover full back positions

Don't think any fans would have him back. He' was a 'one magical moment every 3 games' kind of player. And as I said, his attitude was terrible. There's a bit in Mission to Burnley where he nearly came to blows with Cullen because Cullen called him out for running off the pitch after we lost rather than clapping the travelling fans and his response was pretty much 'I don't care, i needed a p*ss'.

That said, I could easily see him ripping up the Championship because he has every physical and technical attribute to be a very, very good.

I know I'm banging on about it but I hope we're not forfeiting doing proper due diligence on our targets because of the limited time left. Team spirit in this squad is brilliant and that goes a hell of a long way but it's a fragile thing and it doesn't take much to upset it.

I’m not as keen on Fofana as I was this morning when first leaked. The more I read on him the more I think he’d just be signing a “name” rather than a good fit. To the point somebody made earlier, almost “too much” ambition.

Would be amazing if Orban came off tho

The best way I’d describe him from what I’ve seen is a proper old fashioned CB. Obviously lots of PL experience and a Welsh international. Very good in the air (being about 6’4 helps), reads the game very well seemed to the one who stepped out a lot for Bournemouth making interceptions to get the ball back into midfield quickly.

My opinion on O’nien is known here lol but i will say he’s started the season well and it’ll be harsh to drop him but I think in Ballard and Mepham we’d have two colossal CB’s and be a better all round unit. Unfortunately tough decisions are made to move forward and I think another could be made if Samed comes in because he’s a good player too. One things for sure though we are going to have a very good bench and some good rotation options which will be prove massive for us.

I’m sure others will have probably seen a bit more and can give a better insight!

Now I’m stuck on putting my money on us winning the league or just getting promoted.

Have to hope that the spirit in the squad drags any player up rather than the other way around I guess. Hopefully difficult to act out when you've got an entire squad ready to call you out on it

I was talking to a mate about Fofana a while back saying he’d be a great loanee for us when they signed him from Molde but I think he’s had a few underwhelming loans since. Still I think he could be very effective at this level. I thought he stood out at times for Burnley last season very good at carrying the ball forward and playing with his back to goal.
