Unless the player has a poor loan and returns to their parent club with their sale value having dropped.

Sure, but in the mean time they have offset a year of wages which will have helped them. The downside that they have a poor loan is not hugely different to them staying at the parent and having a poor year.
 
I'll be honest, losing last season's top scorer with only a half-fit Connolly on a one-year deal and a kid on loan as our only senior strikers until January is really poor planning by the club as a whole. It seems we put all our eggs in one basket in thinking we could get Davis to sanction Óscar leaving. Well, we haven't got Davis and Óscar is still leaving.

I would hope given we've accepted the offer we have something cooking.

This stuff makes a real difference to kids. Mine's still moping about Honeyman leaving after meeting him a couple of times. Dreading telling her about Oscar
