Ok if people are being asked to be realistic about where we are compared to where we have been previously, then those people need to be realistic and realise philogene isn't a top talent of this country.

Willing to accept that’s maybe a slight over-estimation but the delay has been caused by one of the better, and improving, clubs in the land wanting to ensure they will be able to have him back should they wish.

Do get the feeling some fans waiting for us not to sign every player we've been linked with this week so they can say 'told you so.' It's mad transfer deadline day - nobody gets everything they want. If I look at what we've done as a whole since end of last season, I think we've moved forward. Delap's pressing and work rate and bringing others into play is miles ahead of Oscar or Tetteh (when he wasn't injured), Connolly's started like a house on fire and Twine very highly rated. And I see a few have already concluded on Vinagre and Lokilo on the base of one average game for Vinagre (when suspect he wasn't match fit) and one game for Lokilo when he was really good and made the first goal! Oh, and in his RH interview today, Liam seems to have accepted he needs a CDM who can win the ball.

You would. You seldom say anything positive about the club you allegedly support.

Another one who thinks that we are bigger than we are and more attractive. Go on, explain why we would be a more attractive proposition at the moment than Ipswich? Are you one of those who asks for a stream as they won’t pat a tenner to the club they support to watch a game? I never say anything about the club. Some, and I say some of its supporters and people in the city they play in, yes.

Absolutely and I think it's important to point out that with transfers, doubly especially on deadline day, things change very quickly. I posted a list the other day of what we would see if everything went to plan, and by the end of the day I'd found out that the deal had been held up while some final bullshit was sorted (which turned out to be Ipswich sticking their noses in.). Sometimes the landscape can change quicker than people can type (or sign a contract), the best transfers happen behind closed doors and make fans go "where the **** did that come from?"
Baz has come under a bit of flack for his "it's habbening!!" stories, but the poor sod can only go off what he's told/allowed to post up, if he's told "we expect it today, just got to sign this and we'll announce it, crack on", then he's going to post it. He's a journalist at the end of the day, part of his job is to get people to read the thing he's written so that his company makes money, which needs to sound exciting and exclusive.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if we signed more than three tomorrow, like LR said in his interview, players can become available that you wouldn't think were and if they improve you, even in areas you aren't targeting, you take them.

For example, we might go in for target man Andi Zeqiri. He was all set to move to Metz, but then decided not to and is still at Brighton. Birmingham want him, so do other clubs in Europe. With Davis now not coming, it's a potential forward option that wasn't available two days ago. As a result of this, Metz now want Oscar, which would mean we would definitely need another striker. When Bob closes a door...

I disagree
The vast majority of this board, me included, have absolutely no idea who any of these players are. I’ll judge whether they’re good or bad when I actually see them play.
It’s the posters telling us constantly it’s been done when it hasn’t that’s got most people’s backs up

Please don’t encourage stat boy Shark to leave his box and start posting again.

I can just imagine if some of this lot had been reporting on players years ago. Looked at young Greaves, doesn’t run much, doesn’t track back, only 5’8”. Puskas? OK in Hungary, but could he do it here? Overweight, only 1 foot, only 5’8. Dave Mackay (One of my all time favourite players BTW)?!Another too small at 5’8”, injury prone breaking his leg. As for that Matthews bloke, just stands about on the wing, never tackles and just waits for the ball to come to him…The stats and all the metrics back it up. Better look elsewhere for people who know this division.

They’re also really rich. And I mean REALLY ****ing rich…

I know. And have built things up slowly but surely.Acwell run club who Imthink will be back in the PL before some bigger clubs who think they have a right to be there.

Haha you live in Sheffield?
Thank Goodness no ST! Lived in Lindum for 18 years but back in Hull for ten years now! However, in my teaching days the head of the faculty was a Welsh born Arsenal fan who genuinely believed that we had no right to be facing them in the FA Cup Final. Indeed, in meetings he would take every opportunity to put us down. On the day I retired, I very unprofessionally, and with a lack of maturity, quietly whispered in his ear, that "if he ever slagged off my team to my face now that I was leaving, I would twat him on the spot". His face was a picture of fear and pathetic regret. He left soon after I did and under a financial cloud… the **** him. UTT

Did I mention club size? I merely stated you have absolutely nothing positive to say on anything about the club you allegedly support.

Allegedly support? **** off. What do I say negative about the club? Saying support has been poor, not enough get behind the team vocally etc is not criticising the club you dimwit.

Tell me what I have said negative about the club? Don’t consistently slate the style of play every verse end like some on here. In fact the only critical post about the team has been one after the Bristol game when I said that after we had taken the next keeper to touch the ball 20 passes later was Ingram was not entertaining. Never criticised the owners, unlike some. Or claimed the aTurkey trip was a fix. Probably because one of the first chosen was a fan who was going home and away when 90% on here weren’t. And, as some others on here who know him, is most definitely not a supporters club type.
I have criticised the over the top stewarding but that has always been the case and the club are not wholly in charge of that.

So, tell me, why we would be a more attractive proposition than Ipswich? The town is dire but players always live outside of the towns or cities of the club they play for.

Oh no I meant that’s what I’d say to a Wendies/Piggies fan.

That is a great effort on your part though. What a knob.
A few days before the FA Cup semi-final, my godfather (who is a Sheff United fan) was harping on about their glory days and eventually got so heated he said “if you beat us it’s an upset.”
I just said “okay Goliath, £100 on it.”

David got paid. Sorted my ticket out and the travel.
