Piss poor maybe is harsh, I maybe should have said it's come across piss poor and very unorganised ( tbf I'm also going on this I've heard from others ) as fa Ra's the incomings it's probably a tad fairer to say underwhelming...

Allsop although good is a downgrade
Vinagre I'm not sure we'll see consistently enough
Twine is a good signing IF we play him in his position
Lokilo imo doesn't improve us, just a cheaper version of what we had
Delap looks ok so far but if he carries on at his current goals per game then he'll get 11, worse then then Oscars return last season ( that's if he plays every game ) Oscar's goals per game was a goal every 2.6 games and delaps is currently 1 in 4.
Connolly was with us last season so can't really class as new signing but I agree he's looking good and better then last season.
Philogene isn't here yet so I'll leave that till after the window shuts, but on paper its positive.

No point talking about players we didn't get as it makes no difference to us now.

I really really hope LR absolutely smashes it and takes us to the top 6. But with this squad I personally can't see it. But I'll be the happiest man alive to be proved wrong and I'll gladly admit I was wrong if it happens.

I think this summer is a lot like last summer, ironically. A mix of high-profile signings in Vinagre and Twine and some scraping the barrel like Allsop and Lokilo.

Not every signing has to be a high-profile one but I’m still a bit disappointed we didn’t spend decent money on a defensive mid. We had a great opportunity to sign Ndayishimiye last summer but it never happened for whatever reason. We needed to make an investment on a similar sort of player this summer who would improve us and we could potentially sell later down the line for a big profit. I also find it weird we’ve gone from being mindful of FFP and our earlier signings reflecting that to suddenly shelling out £5 million on a winger who has raw talent but hardly pulled up trees in the Championship. I also think we could’ve done a lot better than Allsop but I like Ingram as he’s a good shot-stopper and is improving every game with his distribution.

I know Delap gets judged on goals first and foremost but the assist against Brizzle was special, should’ve had a few more since he got going too. Second highest number of chances created, think if Tufan misses out he’ll be replaced by Traore/Twine and get more chances to be potent. Tufan outside the box has been pretty poor in that role so I think Delap has been sacrificing his own chances in front of goal with Tufan taking the bulk

It's a good City pub, doesn't need the backlash it gets, I'm sure he's wise enough to realise its a very small element of our wider support and there are fanatics right across East Yorkshire.

I’ve never been in and I don’t really care to. Don’t have a problem with the pub in particular but there’s something of a clique forming who like to toss each other off over being best mates with Acun. Very weird. Plus one of them is the deviant who groped Amber.

Possibly yes, hopefully you'll be proved correct. I do think his goals per game ratio will improve, but we had a striker with a ( almost ) 1 in 2 ratio last season that was starved of real service for the most part.....is / will delap be a huge improvement on Oscar... Jury is out for me

He's a media man, he likes his ego stoked. Hopefully he's also bright enough to not let that cloud his judgement, which I'm almost certain he won't given his business success

I agree mate I've no interest in stats. I may be unique in this but also don't care much for formations or tactics.

For me football is almost all about emotions the excitement of a surge into the oppositions half the trepidation of them in ours. For me it's about the emotion. The mechanics are just bla bla bla.
I don't much care for formations or tactics as I know very little about them. City for me has always been about the social side, and always will be, win or lose we'll always booze. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

It doesn’t help that he lets slip transfer rumours to the Botanic clique who then spout off about it on Twitter.

Sunderland could be in for a genuinely horrible end to the window, looks like Southampton are picking off their 2 best players with bids agreed for Stewart and Roberts

Come one lads… we are paying 5m for a player who is regarded by a club who got European footy last season as someone who they don’t want to get rid of. A DM is apparently in the works so let’s see where we go tomorrow. Vinagre comes with top championship pedigree who we’ve seen nothing of yet due to an unfortunate injury yet he’s coming back into the side. Davis was a decent spot and it’s a shame we missed out but encouraging signs. Twine is an excellent bit of business for a well regarded player who’s chosen us over 11 other championship teams (apparently) Allsop is a bit more withdrawn but we clearly have decided spunking massive budget on a keeper is surplus to requirements for us (and in my view is absolutely correct). Lokilo average but worth a punt, Connolly has taken to us like a duck to water and it’s very clear he has all the ability to be a top champ lower prem player. Delap again has the ability but has been blasted by other clubs but like we always do we seem to be bringing the best out of him.

other clubs on Twitter are remarking at the business we are doing as class, does anyone remember losing out on Marriot to P’boro? Cause I remember those days vividly and I’m grateful it’s as exciting as It is now. Might be the sangria but PERSPECTIVE is key.

The standard deviants is going up on here it seems. :emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0105-wink:

At times I sit and read this forum thinking we genuinely deserved the Allams.
It's worth remembering that this Club went through one of it's most successful periods under them.Yes,it all turned sour, but at times we played some of the best football I've witnessed in 54 years of following the Club...

I take it you never attended during their ****show?

I absolutely did and I’m grateful for the good times as much as I’m happy the bad is over.

This summers business hasn’t been unbelievable but likewise there is plenty on here who would do well to remember signing the likes of Randall Williams and Andy Cannon as key parts of a summer championship window when we’re about to spend £5m on a top talent of this country alongside plenty of other good championship players.

Ok if people are being asked to be realistic about where we are compared to where we have been previously, then those people need to be realistic and realise philogene isn't a top talent of this country.
