I wonder if we might be having a go for Tom Davies ex Everton? Just a thought but he has apparently priced himself out of going to Cardiff due to wages, could we be pushing? Would explain why Woods isn't required and as an England under 21 could be classed in that exciting talent class Acun has been mentioning.

Agree, it does seem very odd. Possibly shoddy too.
He also put in some good performances during pre-season noted by several on here, with a few commenting that he'd be good to keep as the back up to Seri.
Can absolutely understand Rosenior choosing to (try to) move him on but it seems odd that he was used so much during pre-season, which surely should be about getting the team ready, letting youngsters stake their claim, etc. Very much doubt he got games to put him in the shop window as any club would know very well what he can / can't do already.

I put it down to him being in the shop window, he certainly played well, and I guess it might have been that he was told he was on his way out and was playing for his next contract.
 
Anyone know how much we paid for Woods? I had in my head it was a relatively small fee (less than 500k) but after searching it seems it may have been upwards of 1m however I couldn't find anything concrete.

I think we just took over his contract at Birmingham, who just took over his Stoke contract, which was fairly fackin large.

I may be mistaken mind, but didn’t he say about finding a solution for both him and Figureido after the last game of the season.. re a move away

Yes, it was revealed they'd been told they were surplus to requirements, after they weren't included in the squad that travelled to Luton for the last game.

Is that true or wasn't it just that it was said that offers would be considered for them and others? I think Rosenior only fairly recently told Woods that he wasn't in his plans .... which to me seems bizarre when he's used him so much during preseason.

Those two specifically were told we were looking to replace them, during the first week or May, they clearly knew where they stood then.

Woods had been strung along the whole time though with Rosey keeping his hopes up saying he still likes him but he just needs time, but all along he was planning on getting another Bird anyway.
