Disappointed Jarvis has gone to Shelbourne - he’s had a very good pre season with a knack of being in the right place/ right time to put the ball in the net. I hope this is a sign we are going to get a replacement that is even better?

If we’re being honest, he has Slater, Allahyar, Longman, Vaughan, Lokilo, and Sinik all ahead of him. Even if this pre season has put him in the managers mind, he might never get an opportunity to get on the pitch.

Jarvis may turn out to be a great player but he's not played above non-league level outside of the odd token sub appearance for us. We have no idea how close he is to being ready for first team action in the Championship. Realistically he's scored two tap-ins in pre-season so it's a real stretch to assume he would definitely have been in the first team picture purely on that evidence. If he never breaks into the first team he'll be far from the first to get this far and fail. Questioning whether our new signings might be 'even better' than him is frankly nuts.

Why does the tap in matter? No other winger bar Longman who missed an easier chance than him has even looked like scoring.

Vaughan was playing for Redcliffe 2 months before making his championship debut.

It doesn't matter, except that I think people seem to be wanting to elevate him from promising but entirely unproven academy player to first team player, ahead of several more proven wingers, off the back of those two goals, and so I think it's worthwhile to remember that they were just simple, close-range finishes that he probably wouldn't even get in a real game.

The big difference between Vaughan and the rest of our young kids is his game time in senior football.

I think Glasgow is quarter protestant, quarter Catholic these days?

The other half are so spaced out and searching for their next hit that they don't know what planet they're on,never mind what religion they are...:emoticon-0105-wink:
Especially in the city centre
