then why does he mention top 6 twice, and top 2 once?
Raising false expectations imo.
Personally with the squad as it is right now mid table, with a few additions, a bit of luck with limited injuries maybe top 10. Maybe!

Maybe because he knows what they have lined up to add to the squad, and of course that is his opinion isn't it.

He clearly says 'happy with top 10, top 6 my dream' and then with a smile and wink says 'of course I'd love top 2' but wouldnt we all?

Digging him out for that seems like you're really desperate for something to criticise.

Based on some of the negative crap on here based on guesses and here say if I was Acun and I’d read this forum for the last two weeks I’d pack up and go home - some of you deserve absolutely nothing , even his video has been slammed - it was bad enough following City when the Allams were here and all that divisiveness , seems some of you have missed it !!
FFS get behind them - pretty sure the guys doing what he can within his means

Happy with top 10 which is the expectation.
O.K then, let's discuss civilly and reasonably why you've just posted this.

You have said for some time that we finished 10th on form under Liam Rosenior,in fact in the last week you've upgraded that to 9th? This despite us having a **** load injuries last season and no recognised strike force..

Surely you should expect more given we've brought Delap and Connolly aboard and we still have business pending?

As for the owner and the interview,I don't hang on his every word...BUT.

I quite liked his interview,it was impassioned and it very much came from the heart. But even the most upbeat owner of any Club is going to look a bit glum if he enters the stadium tomorrow and he's staring out at a crowd of 4 or 5 thousand(To be slightly critical, maybe there should've been a bit more thought put into the opposition)?

Before anyone asks,No,I can't afford a £100 round trip to attend a friendly tomorrow but God willing I'll be there to support as much as humanly possible this season,I hope we can bring in a bit more experience and pace and I hope we start the season well.

Yeah,I'm behind it,we all are!!! Criticism may flow forth on the odd occasion from several on here but anyone who can't see others opinions and accuse them of "bed wetting" needs to ****ing grow up and accept this forum as one of mixed opinion and mixed feelings!!

I recall the club mentioning that they want to do this generally but there's issues with the ground area being generally quite small to do it in
Fair enough, there is a big park outside West Stand reception though. Not sure it would have taken much room to have a band or two playing 1pm until 2:45pm and some bottle bars, kids inflatable goal things and Tigers Trust doing their thing out there. Even a merch stall to relieve the queues in the store.

If he wants to fill the stadium he needs to ensure people are entertained for more than 90 minutes. We started using the stadium bar (Dugout??) for the last couple of games but even that is hard to get served. More options would mean more people hanging around spending money. Man City have some awesome half time stuff, interactive with families competitng on the pitch for signed shirts. Its pretty entertaining watching them do stuff against each other. We have been watching Roary and Amber let little kids score penatlies for years. For a show man he doesnt seem to be asking much of his team for entertainment in the ground.

Before people think I am being negative I am still there, paying my money and supporting the team. Just pointing out it could be a lot more attractive to new people if they thought outside the box a little bit. Some things that have been introduced are great. The food is some of the best I have had at a stadium, the East Stand live music is usually ok, the light shows are alright (not a patch on Man City but not sure its fair to compare) and the DJ was a good idea ahead of the game.

All I took from that was "sind shirts"!

But agree, the experience needs be well beyond the 90 mins. So a whole afternoon can be made of it.

I'm stating the club expectation based on last year's form.

As confirmed in Acun's interview.

And quite right too if we're working with a top 10 budget.

Not that I'm too concerned about that myself as that's the level we were at for the second half of last season as the form table over those 28 games indicates.

I'm quietly hoping top 6 but that will depend on landing targets.

But honestly, I'll take solid improvement year on year.

I do expect pressure on the manager from above though if were not looking like achieving top 10.

They've started doing some small bits outside the west stand reception. small football pitch and some face painting. They clearly want to get something rolling but I'm honestly forgetting them saying there's issues with raising a whole fan park style thing you're mentioning akin to Man City

I agree though I want it. I like the dugout but if you did street food vendors and pop up bar outside with some activities it would be really popular

I might go to a game this season if we look like pushing for top 6.

Oh do **** off
Disagree with the points made not attack the posters making those points

The 'differing opinions on a forum' stance is an odd defense for negativity imo. It's not even a case of differing opinion, its completely polarised on here at the moment. I bet its a psychologist's wet dream here.

I'm kind of in the middle. I get that there's been no blow your socks off signings, but at the same time we seem to be being astute. I'd hazard a guess the same crowd that said last summer was awful are the same one's talking us down now. How can the club win then? The bit that rubs others up the wrong way is a lot of the negativity either comes from a place of conjecture that then gets treated as fact, or from reading between lines that aren't there (eg Acun's interview) in order to create another point of contention.

Just remember a ball hasn't been kicked in the league yet. The friendlies haven't been great, but we're still a work in progress and Liam seems to have been taking the opportunity to experiment. If he's already been judged to the point of no return then what's even the point?

Exactly. I'm not stupid enough to think we can do what Man City have done at the moment and maybe it was all part of the bigger plan Acun had for the land but we can surely be better and do something out there. Some catering vans and and a fan zone with player interviews and ex players etc.
