I will give LR a fair chance but this style of football where keeper passes to right back. To central defender and sideways again before back to the keeper. Ball gets to midfield and either sideways or back again. It is not the brand of football the chairman promised and frankly it is dull to watch.

Yip and as the Scunny coach said yes they had a lot of possession but it was just between the centre backs.

Then LR criticised the team for no one running forward or looking for passes out or pressing or tackling and basically tossing it off, which is basically what happened at scunny and they still couldn't beat us.

LR did say he wanted the game as to test the mentality of his players he didn’t sound like he was too happy with his players tossing it off.
And the 700+ who went to the game were not happy either.

Quite right too. I mean, having to go to that ****hole is bad enough as it it's, even without the performance

Well the Nokia was reliable, we'll see about the I-phone.
Got wife’s old Nokia 9 series about 15 years old maybe , in the drawer , plug it in it charges lights up and functions .
Like playing Nick Barmby again , he still looks the same and looks as fit as ever .

what would you get the players to do ? Launch it and lose it because the oppo player facing the ball has the best possibility of jumping higher , or ask our forwrd to bang into him like Eaves did , to get the knockdown - but the ref blows for a foul.
Ideally you still need a keeper with decent passing ability to find a man wide where it’s safer- there aren’t many if those in any division

Whatever it is, do we want it to be our problem...as unsympathetic as that may sound.
It seems its only us interested in him, and he seems desperate to come to us...probably zero other options. I would not be bothered if we looked at other options.
Rosenior's Maddison?
Desperately wanted Malcolm here too, That worked well.
A case of naivity/inexperience, thinking he can get the best out of him or an inspired bargain signing?
Hopefully it's the latter, but fear it's the former. Only twt.

It was clear Malcolm had ability just his attitude wasn't great. Rosenior worked with him at Derby so I can only imagine he's not been like that before

Why not throw the ball?

I can. There was a documentary about Crystal Palace’s academy not too long ago and he was a stroppy twat then too. I think that’s just how he is.

I suppose that's fair. He must have been less so at Derby or as people have said Rosenior thought he could manage it. Hindsight is wonderful now and I'm sure he's learned from it

Ironically, despite us probably not looking there, it’s quite common for goalkeepers from the continent to be good with their feet. You look at the likes of Ederson, Alisson Becker, Onana, Kaminski at Blackburn, they’re all decent with their passing and decision making. De Gea, while randomly **** then world class, could pick a pass from anywhere. Ditto Buffon.

British goalkeepers don’t develop in that same way, or at least haven’t for the last 20 odd years. I think steps have been taken to try and rectify this, at least at City, and the young lads we have now will definitely benefit from this.

We've already seen that he does get the best out of him. He played very well for us remember.

This again just seems like an example of people choosing to see things in the most negative light...
