It's nowhere near 'dire' in my view but I think the jigsaw needs to be completed sooner(rather than later).Rosenior will know far more than he's letting on and for his sake I hope he can land a couple of jewels before the start of the season,(I think Delap will be one and will work his socks off for us).

Make no mistake, the owner will act on poor results and if that means Rosenior becoming just another name in our chequered history of managers,it will be so.

What we all need to take on board, bearing in mind it's a forum of mixed opinions, is that some people will get more wound up than others and some will be far more enthusiastic than others...I'm very much middle of the Road at the moment. The overall picture is cloudy to me but I'm fairly certain that we need to bring in some quality to progress this season if we want to achieve what the owner aims for.

As for support, that shouldn't be brought into question with anyone. We all want success but maybe we all have different ways of thinking we can achieve it and our posts reflect our feelings, and so they should.

Just on that last bit, I think some people's support absolutely can be questioned. Maybe it's not people who post on here, I don't know, but there really was a lot of pissing and moaning in the stands last season, around me in North particularly, and it harms the team's chances. The worst of it was when we were playing out from the keeper and people were screaming with rage about it, piling extra pressure on the players who were trying to perform, essentially doing the away crowd's job for them. I do think this constant and growing trend of negativity online can only make that kind of thing more likely.

Now forgive me here but who was this rising star of the English game who Acun cryptically mentioned ? That seems to have disappeared, was it Delap ? Twine ? Anyone have any clues ?, there was also suggestions that someone who chose another club over us before, was eager to come, again was this Twine or another yet unnamed player. All a bit cloak and dagger, for what it's worth providing he remains fit, it seems that Vinagre will improve us, and the two new forwards gives us options.

I would rather they played so well that they kept the other strikers out

I've seen some utterly appalling City games over the years, but the Hearts pre-season in 2008 has to be right up there with the worst of them and I drove over 250 miles to watch us lose that damp squib. We put out a decent team as well...

Myhill, Dawson (Cooper 85), Ashbee (France 85), Turner, Barmby (Halmosi 63), Gomez (Garcia 67), Folan (Windass 46), Boateng (***an 59), Ricketts, Marney (Hughes 80), Gardner.

Yeh I was at that game, very dull. Not so far for me to travel but so underwhelming considering the excitement at the time.

Spot on. Same near me too, many openly barracking players for playing out from the back - in which world is this constructive and supportive?

There is a notable growing trend of negativity. Much of it directed at Rosenior for indulging in (as per) managerial rhetoric, or for not winning every friendly Brazil 1970 style. In part, it is cultivated by the genuine critical stance of some but is then amplified, overplayed and over simplified by the many.

It will manifest next to detrimental effect next season unless we steamroll the division - which obviously won't happen.

Given we finished the last games of last season with no recognised striker. I'm gobsmacked we're still fishing the same pond. More so now we're hearing they're again picking up niggles in training.

Niggles are part and parcel. It's the constant tears, breaks, ruptures and strains keeping people out weeks and months at a time that have been the problem.

I don't think our recruitment in the final. Third will be limited to Connolly, Delap and Lokilo though, especially if Tetteh on his way out. So let's see what the window brings before we all head out to jump off the humber bridge.

I will give LR a fair chance but this style of football where keeper passes to right back. To central defender and sideways again before back to the keeper. Ball gets to midfield and either sideways or back again. It is not the brand of football the chairman promised and frankly it is dull to watch.

We’ve not even been doing that recently. He just can’t get the midfield balance right to me

Risk and reward. We some to have nailed the risk bit ……

Meanwhile celtic have more new signings

We would do well to follow suit, great value for money. I saw Coventry signed a Japanese winger the other week for 1.2m, be interesting to see how he gets on.

Sounds like you're in amongst some rum lads...

What was their reaction when you questioned their support?

It certainly didnt prepare the fans for the start to that season

I still think we have a chance with Twine. We were 100% definitely in discussions with Burnley AND him a few weeks ago. Not sure what has happened since but I can still see him moving to us.

Burnley have made a few signings in his position. It does beg the question of whether whatever budget we have is being reserved for him. He wont get minutes at Burnley thats for sure

Who's Gomez? I have no recollection of him at all!

Geo?
