Got a decent run for them this season mind

Ye, and he did alright by the sounds. He's still got so much time left and could easily end up in the Championship.

You've also got to take into account the drivers for current first team managers. Although they will all say it's a long term project and building for the future etc. They all know full well it's all about short term success and if bringing in a keeper will help them get that short term success, then the long term prospects of a keeper that's 3/4/5yrs or even longer from challenging the first team, isn't going to be of concern to them.

Not that any will ever admit that.

Exactly how it should be too. Grant was sacked for going with 2 young keepers at Posh this season.

How are Lo-Tutala or Cartwright supposed to break into the first team if we keep buying keepers though? If they’re highly-rated, I don’t see why Lo-Tutala of Cartwright can’t be #2 to Ingram. We supposed to just loan them out to League 2 indefinitely until their contract runs out?

Even outside of keepers this is always the argument. When there's a player who seems to be good in U21s people always question why they aren't in the senior setup and they always ask how he's supposed to break in within being given a chance. It's been said about Jim Simms last season and at times Will Jarvis too. But then every so often you get someone who very clearly is good enough like Vaughan or KLP and it becomes clear that actually, players are given a chance when they're good enough. The fact we're intent on signing a senior keeper tells us that TLT and the other young ones aren't ready to be #2 yet. We want to believe they are but they obviously lack something if the club doesn't trust them.

I’m sure there was mannion and another one at the same time, both highly rated. We’ve ha dab a few and now we’ve got Robson and Cartwright. They all just disappear into the abyss wothouhn making a handful of starts for us.
Is Willo still the last one to come through and be a regular number 1

Oh, get ****ed, you brain-dead ****. You chat the most ****e on this entire forum.

What you said is completely stupid and no sane manager would ever do it.

You don't go into a season with 1 senior keeper, it's suicide.

It's almost as odd as your obsession with Cashin who we aren't signing in a million years as it's as clear as day we won't be spending seven figures on a back up centre half when we're cheapening out on a quality keeper we could really do with.

May as well sell them then. I’ve no idea why the club gave Callum Jones or Matty Jacob new contracts either. They haven’t got a sniff of getting into our team now. I don’t see how a loan to Forest Green Rovers in League 2 makes Callum Jones any closer either.

Shows how much you know, daft ****.

You're just stupidly unrealistic. And it's as clear as day that we're working on a tight budget from the players we've been linked too.

I'm sure Rosie would love to be able to sign Cashin but when we're being linked to Peacock-Farrell and Sonny Bradley, it's obvious that money's tight.

If we had money, we wouldn't be signing a left back who's got a dodgy Achilles and you wouldn't go near Delap either.

We're having to be somewhat creative and sensible and it seems like we're flogging Greaves and Oscar to fund purchases.

Whatever we do have to spend is going on attackers as Baz has been briefing. After splurging last year, we're skint in comparison.

That is a stupid opinion both are highly rated and most players have injurys.

“cheapening out”

If we were to take over his contract, that he’s reported to be on, it would mean us committing to spend likely 10% of our entire turnover on a goalkeeper.

Yes the goalkeeper is probably the most important position in the team but it is also probably also one of, if not the cheapest to fill.

I don’t think it’s realistic to lump such a huge chunk of our budget on a keeper and I doubt many other championship clubs would/do either.

Haven’t you spent all season saying we’ve got loads of money and will sign 15 or 20 new players.

Yes, it's cheapening out to go from Darlow to Peacock-Farrell and if we sign him, it's the epitome of cheapening out. There are keepers in between those two who would be good for us and not cost the earth.

That is a stupid opinion both are highly rated and most players have injurys.

For current our position, they're both sensible deals. Delap had 2 tough spells on loan last year and is definitely a work in progress and Vinagre has gone a little stagnant, if you listen to HFFP, he's complete ****. I'm not sure he was our first choice LB either.

No, I've said we need to make more signings than is being said to try and rectify some of the errors made last summer. As has been said, we've got a top 8 wage bill, but not a top 8 squad.

Don't listen to HFFP it's his opinion if LR listens to his scouts then i am sure he has more upto date info to make a decision, but you said we would not go near those 2 players but i think LR would they are not exactly **** are they or they would not have been or are at the clubs they are.

Think it's mighty obvious our owner got a tad carried away last year, and with contracts fees etc probably exceeded what we should of, some of the signings paid off while others didn't.. given who we are allegedly being linked with it seems they have had to tighten their belts to accomodate the FFP rules unless some headroom is made, this may explain why Greaves and Oscar are being linked with possible exits. While it would be lovely to think we could just go out and splash the cash, I get the feeling we are unable to because of last year's spending. Time will tell who comes in, but I don't get the feeling socks will get blown off at all.

To be honest we don’t need socks blowing off, we have those players within our ranks already.

Macca, Greaves, Seri, Traore, Tufan, Tetteh and Oscar. That’s a solid spine. What we need are steady and reliable signings to build a balanced side around them.

Plus someone will come out of this window unexpectedly and be a contributor. It happens every season
