It's just very different to last year (which is a much safer option mind). To be honest, if Vinagre is fit he's a bit of a coup but Delap's just not really an exciting one but as has been mentioned he offers something different and if Rosie gets something out of him, he could bag a hatful. It's just for a side with top 6 aspirations who struggle to score goals, it's a risk

It's sadly the state of affairs. They could probably find someone still yet in this market who is a bit more polished and an instant starter in the team but most of our transfer business will most likely be finding players that we need to coach up. Think the good thing is that this coaching staff is quite highly regarded with LR and Justin Walker so I do think they'll get the most out of players with the right attitude

Hull City have agreed a deal with Manchester City to sign striker Liam Delap on loan for the upcoming Championship season, with the talented youngster expected to become Liam Rosenior's first signing of the summer, sources on not 606 said, which Hull Live read today.

Fixed that for ya

A fair few Preston fans saying they would take Delap back despite his goal tally. Has pace to get in behind and makes intelligent movements but just needs a bit of confidence to start finding the net. Also read that Man City have previously rejected a 16m bid for him which says a lot about how much both teams rate him.

This time last year Delap was the most in demand loan in the championship. His stock has fallen a bit but there's undoubtedly a quality player in there.
Just looking at some of his goals from the PL2 he's got everything, pace, power, technique.

Lad at work supports Preston. Reckons he can be frustrating but reckons once the penny drops has all the ability he needs to smash up the championship.

So he was in demand until he actually proved he wasn’t?

Hope he does well for us

That's how it is for most the championship but I'm just never a fan of coaching up a player like Delap because he's going to need time and work yet he's not ours

Baz has been briefing that we've moved on from Connolly.

To be fair he's said tonight that Vinagre's interest isn't as far down the line as everywhere else is saying. Although, there's some decent sources saying it's all but done
I would take a pinch of salt with everything Baz reports. As he only does it when other journalists report it.

You don’t lose the ability to score goals, Delap did it for fun at YT level. It’s no surprise a young footballer who has bullied at u21/23 level since he was 16 because of his physical side has taken a while to adapt as the way he’ll be playing won’t work against the seasoned championship players who’ve seen it all before. Next season I really feel he could explode if he’s learnt from last season.

I'd be happy to see Connolly back. Him, Tetteh and Delap are a decent strike force at this level.

In his interview with the club last week, Rosenior mentioned Connolly. Emphasised his want for robust players, but how Connolly was someone they might look at towards the end of the window.
