' Do you have any idea behind the thinking of signing Delap'????? Are you serious SS? Probably had a look at him when City went to Man City's training ground to play them in a behind closed doors friendly recently. Believe City beat the team Man City put out that day. Anyone who had broken into Manchester City's 1st team as this lad did is not a mug, any young lad who gets picked for England under 20's is not a mug either. So I'd take a wild guess that his size, his age, the position he plays and who he plays for may have had something to do with it? I'm also guessing with his pedigree this lad could have gone on loan anywhere he wished too with a lot more of clubs a lot closer to Manchester than Hull after him. So a good signing by City and we must have impressed him to get him here for the full season. I remember us getting Frazer Campbell on loan from Man Utd and everyone said 'who'? until they saw him play.

Acun is definitely waiting till the end of the transfer window for the big signings since that is when they will be the cheapest

calm down

I'm quite optimistic about this one. Seems to be highly regarded by coaches at the very highest level. Really hope, obviously, that we're the club where his career really takes off

Good signing for us...He, Delap, was impressive vs us when he played for Stoke and they tonked us 0-3. Ran our back four ragged. ..Then he went to Preston, and got lost in the Bermuda triangle that is Deepdale. Not sure what happened there.

You don’t lose the ability to score goals, Delap did it for fun at YT level. It’s no surprise a young footballer who has bullied at u21/23 level since he was 16 because of his physical side has taken a while to adapt as the way he’ll be playing won’t work against the seasoned championship players who’ve seen it all before. Next season I really feel he could explode if he’s learnt from last season.
Every player we've ever been associated with can do it at You Tube level NT.... its just when they get on the pitch theres a problem...

See Vinigaire strokes is on loan too. How many are we allowed? Loans, not Vinigaire strokes. Serious question.

Much like my own thoughts. If the lad wasn't quoted at Man City he wouldn't be there anymore(permanently).

Any player who sits on the fringe of that starting 11 needs a serious second look!

Apparently he enjoyed his time with P.N.E last season and in his own words learned a lot about Championship football, though found goals hard to come by.This is my idea of grabbing hold of something while available and trying to use it to our advantage. If this lads got some real talent and we get him on a season long loan and get behind him he could well reward us with loyalty and goals.

It's a gamble,so are players from Turkiye but this has a good feel about it to me...

I doubt we saw him in the Man C friendly as he was busy being a bang average replacemt for the injured Ris at Preston at the time.

Preston were never a side who would create much though. Can't imagine a more different style between Preston and Rosieball but the kid plainly has ability and whether it's this year, next year or the one after he'll stake his claim sooner or later.

He's not a name who seems likely to just disappear.

But can he play in stoke on a tuesday night?

I'll get my coat...

Not when its cold...Nobody can...

Apparently that's why Oscar's leaving. Stoke away once was enough, that and the idea of playing the 2 massivest clubs in Europe in Yorkshire derbies this season.

He literally just shat it when the fixtures came out and booked a 1 way flight to Portugal on last minute.com for 10:59pm on deadline day.

FACT.

You say that like we didn’t sign that Salah M’Hand on loan from Arsenal despite him being injured when we signed him, injured for the entire duration of his loan and injured when we sent him back.

I don’t know why some fans find it inconceivable that Tan, Acun and Rosenior can make a mistake when they’ve made mistakes already. This overly-optimistic ‘trust the process’ narrative is just as bad as being overly-negative as it shuts down any debate about transfers and the direction of the club. Reminds me of those Utd fans who thought Solskjær could do no wrong because he was a club legend and ‘he just needed more time to get it right’.

I was just saying it was ridiculous to say that he'd take us for a ride and promise not to be injured in order to get a contract, whilst actually carrying a serious injury that people on here are aware of but the club aren't. That's exactly what the post I quoted was inferring, and it was entirely ridiculous.

I'm not expecting you to "trust the process" entirely, although on the whole I very much do personally. I could understand concerns that our apparent activity so far doesn't seem quite as promising as we might have hoped, following the talk of players who've been promoted from this level before. I think Delap and Vinagre both seem like gambles for various reasons. But the Vinagre achilles thing has just got way out of hand today. Someone posted a single short quote from 2 months ago and now on the back of that he's been diagnosed with a torn achilles by the Not606 medical staff and ruled out until the winter. If we are indeed signing him, then he clearly doesn't have a torn achilles.

Aaah but we have experts. Can read the press, coupled with their own intuition and know in an instant....

You must log in or register to see media

Just go with a smile, a

G I V E I T A R E S T.

Anyone else can do that too.

If you do, people might like you more. We've all read your opinions and decided you know **** all.

But seriously, do you think you know better than cottingham professionals employed by the club and the people that raised the the funds to buy us and subsidise us in the first place 'cos you listened to a podcast and read some stuff about City on the Internet?

Seriously?

But begging Acun for a sub ( whilst dressing it up as a joke erstwhile) whilst being his most vehement critic might not be the way to go about acheiving recognition for your 'Aussie fan club'.

Just sayin' - because you have quality guests and you can be a decent host when you know you're in charge of the narrative, but you can't handle it here without coming across as a bigger prick than even ironic Vern his greatest 'big dick: fantasies.

But in reality you're just a kid. And your guests outshine you on your pod.

Just so you know.

His Instagram, his final post regarding Everton didn’t mention an injury, just that he played as much as he was allowed.

Also his recent posts are him on holiday on yachts and partying in Ibiza, doesn’t look very injured.

My Everton mate said he missed most of the season with injury, they would have played him in the run in if he was fit as they needed a full back.

Pretty sure an ankle injury doesn't stop you sitting on a yacht!

Ahh OK.

Who's your mate?

Is he qualified to diagnose injuries?

I assume he's someone on the medical staff yeah?
