On the wage chat - I could’ve sworn Acun said at one point our average wage had gone from about 5/7k to 20k a week on TalkSport once upon a time? I always thought it seemed slightly steep and would’ve required some very high wages considering the number of Allam-signed contracts still in the squad at the time of him saying it.

Ulker has clearly been here for a reason, but wouldn't it more likely be one of his other brands looking for a foothold as opposed to mcvities, which is a household name with a national brand identity already?

Potenitally, McVities is just the most well known UK company he is involved with.

I'll need a few minutes to digest that information...

This takes the biscuit.

But it's still good to see the owner Hob Nob-ing with influential people. He certainly makes Ehab look a Jaffa commercially, which is a Boost. And a Delight to we supporters

I just hope the new era continues to Snowball, and our sometimes Flake-y support proves it's not Wafer thin.

**** me I'm bored. When do the friendlies start again?

I would think our turnover this season will be naturally higher than last season - assuming sponsors were on pro rata deals last year as they signed up through the year - as well as higher attendances, then you consider players we're culling from the squad like Pelkas, potentially Sinik, Vale (if his wage is to be believed), Woods, plus transfer fees for any of those (plus Doc and Figs potentially), we should be in a reasonably strong position to make a couple of additions. If we're focussing on quality over quantity I could see a big money player coming in without it meaning an Oscar or Greaves HAS to go. It just depends on finding the balance between not pushing the boat out too far and treading water by selling and buying like for likes.

I think we're in a pretty strong position and even if the season started tomorrow I think LR would have more options at his disposal than he did at the back end of last season. We've freed up a decent chunk of money with the loanees departing (I think people forget that we've been paying Baxter's wages all season as he didn't leave in Jan).

I like how they're downplaying this summer but I think any notion that 4-5 is okay is naive and I can't see LR accepting that in private either. He'll want to make his mark on the squad and bring players in who suit his style.
