How many wingers are you expecting us to sign?

1 for each side. if Dodo comes back, But one or both of him or Longman will probably be loaned.

I think he's looking at a core of 18 rotatable established 'first choices'

Then after that it'll be the best of the rest making the 25, but with an eye on development so I'd expect to see the better of the young uns out on development loans.

We'll need 4 for next season so there's more than enough space for Vaughan.

I don't understand this notion of loaning a young players out when they're heavily involved in the first team.

There's a much better argument for loaning out Simons

My point is, in a fully fit squad even before the summer window, young Harry probably doesn't feature.

He's been given an opportunity and taken it and that's a positive, but let's not think we have a fully furbished championship player on our hands just yet.

His ceiling may well be even higher, but he's very young and at the very start of what is hopefully going to be a very successful career.

But he's not going to start every game in a squad with top 6 expectations just yet, so tie him up on a long term deal and get him out to a club so he can have a full season

Yeah, if we get an injury he's a good option to have, but consistent 1st team football is always going to be better for a promising youngster than occasional minutes and u21s.

I think we'll need 4 who can play wide in a 3 but we'll play inverted ones tactically throughout the season. I think we will play variations of 4231 and 442. So 2 out and out wingers on right and left with Ali who can do the same job either side. Traore or Tufan for the 10 or inverted wide player in a 3, and 3/4 strikers is how I think we'll finish the summer.

What I mean is probably we'll sign a Barnes type and a Connolly type to compete with the likes of Benji and Oscar up front.

Hard to do these days when I have the sensitive petal on ignore. :) I'm sure he still occasionally screams into the ether at me though, if that counts.

So much on ignore you had a dig on a reply to Howden the other day, and you've obviously clicked 'unignore' to get context just now but if you're that 'unobsessed', then there's not a lot more I can really do about it my darling, now is there...?!!

i would have said no to barnes back in september
but i saw burnley quite a few times and i think he's the sort of player we have lacked this season

unless he demands crazy wages which i honestly don't think he will, he really would be an astute signing, the experience alone, a regular key part of a team that gained over 100 points just this season
he doesn't have

he's not meant to be and out and out scorer, but he's fantastic at holding the ball up and linking play, getting the ball from the midfield into attacking areas
he's everything oscar is not outside of the box

i'm not sure signing connolly is nonexclusive to signing barnes either

completely agree with this, we champion Tetteh and he scored a singular goal and was crocked. He’s a handy physical presence with a nice touch who brings players into the game. Astute business.

something is off with Connolly and would give him a loan maybe, would certainly look elsewhere if we was looking for a permanent deal.
