Fleming should have been here, given the opportunity in his own side that has been poor on the left flank. He might have taken it or he might not, a question mark will still remain. Loans mean **** all, Leicester fans would never have taken Harry Kane back. I just think it’s a shame Fleming never really got the opportunity he deserved after his performances last season.

He didn’t get it because he was injured to be fair.

there's so many different variables for a player making it at a club

injury at the wrong time.. change of management.. system.. form at the wrong/right time etc etc

what fleming desperately needs though is consistent game time, he's only had 1 season with more than 15 apps i think

This.
He was developing into a tidy attacking LB. Some say KLP helped make him look better than he was, but I think that's bollox. He defended well, had pace, and importantly liked, and was good at, bombing forward. A poor man's Andy Robertson (which is still a compliment).

I was never convinced Fleming did defend that well. Looked better as a wing back. Given that Rosie moved him out , one must wonder if he thought the same. And I can't imagine Oxford got him on loan to warm the bench so presumably they've seen something defensively they didn't feel comfortable about. We've looked far better defensively since Elder came back in at LB. I'd really like to keep Elder as one of 2 competing for the LB spot but I think Fleming needs a move to try and establish himself as a League One LB.

It appears obvious Fleming does not fit with Rosie plans (same as McCann) - the loan to Oxford was for the other manager who was gone after a few games. He does come off the bench most games and they are / appear safe. Sticking points might be the length of the contract and current wages. Regardless hope as a local he does well if /when he moves on

I always thought he was well below it defensively, used to get skinned weekly.

Coyle, Elder, Figgie, Docherty, Woods, Longman and Smith should all be released.
Pelkas and Malcolm can return to their parent clubs.
Greaves can go if we get an offer of £8M upwards

Leaving space for up to 10 incoming plus Darlow and Connolly on permanents.

Sounds like a plan.

There's good plans and then there's bad plans...
