Well if it does become his song, I hope it's more imaginative than just changing Billy Jean to Philogene. The Whitney Houston Vinagre one is just downright weird

Bit of overthinking going on. But is good the fans want to welcome these lads with a song.

Just feel a good song is both earned, and evolves over time.

Let's hope that Vinagre one and this Billy Jean idea ends up as work in progress.

Philogene is an awful lot of money and the only clubs that can realistically afford him is if they've got parachute payments or have sold a player/s for a very sizeable fee. I can completely understand why the parachute clubs would look elsewhere, they've got ridiculous money and can go for more proven players. They also need to get back up before the parachute payments end so they aren't going to be focussing on signing players to develop.

There's only really Cov, Bristol City & Boro who have sold players for decent enough money, but Cov don't play with wingers, Boro didn't actually get that much for Akpom and needs to replace a full attack and Bristol City doesn't appear likely to spend that level.

I think he's going to be a great signing but there's got to be some realism too.

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing Keinan Davis. If we'd signed him 12 months ago, people would be going nuts and for £1-2m, that's a really good fee. He's a target man, a workhorse and someone who's also good with his feet and can chip in with a few goals.

If they'd done enough to break into the team they'd have got in. Vaughan did and others have. It'd be in nobody's interest to hold players back when they're ready, so I find it very hard to believe that that's happening.

The loaning out system here last season was tragic in fairness PLT. But on the whole I do agree.
 
Absolutely drives me nuts with everyone trying to come up with songs for players but not matching the number of words/syllables in the songs.

For example ‘Billy Jean’

It has to be ‘Philo Gene’ to match the first word…not Jaden Philogene. Summer got this right in their first line…

‘Philogene is not our winger’ matches
‘Billy Jean is not my lover’

However…then we have
‘We only hope that he could be the one’ 10 syllables to match
‘She is just a girl who claims that I am the one’ 12 syllables - it’s never going to scan.

Apologies - this is my area of OCD.

I’m very sorry to have triggered your OCD but in my defence, I would just point out that my effort was never intended to be an actual chant, as you can clearly tell from the first line.
It was my poor attempt at poking fun at those of us who are getting a bit ahead of ourselves at the moment.
