Probably both. My fear has been given the package deal with Villa and the fact Mings is injured they're after Greaves

Greaves is starting though. Think he'd be rested not to risk him if he was going to be imminently out of the door and key to our transfer plans. . Also gonna need a another left back and left centre half so as not to leave us short if it is him - so it'd need to be a good fee to basically fund 4 signings.

Looks to me like we are not relying on the player in the striker role for all the goals, wether it's Delap or Oscar they are constantly dropping deep and most our chances fall to Tufan/Connelly. Davis looks like he can play that role better than Oscar, I guess a bit of a Heskey situation, make the ball stick and bring in others.

Think it’s clear Rosey isn’t keen on Oscar, and I also don’t think Oscar really suits the way we play. I reckon he’ll bang them in at this level playing for a fast counter attacking team.
Tbf I reckon Oscar would bang them in if he got anything like decent service. He was starved most games last season. Imo it would be a shame to lose him before we've seen what he can do with decent service. He's a proven goalscorer.

Think Villa have said you can’t have him until you take Davis as well. It’s obvious Rosie isn’t a fan of Oscar, I think his knees might worry him.

Other thing is, and @Howdentiger2 might be more partial to this info. We must be gaining massive revenue boosts here from said sponsor. These two will cost a fortune and we still need a keeper and a midfielder.

He will probably go elsewhere and score goals thats a given. But in my opinion he isn't talented enough to build the system around and adapt to. Compared to Delap (and even Tetteh at points last year) his hold up play is average and for a guy his size I can think of a few times he's been bullied off the ball. Building around him would also be short sighted for if he got injured which he seems to have ankle problems.

This isn't me hating on Oscar I think he's by far the best finisher at the club bar maybe Ozan but he just doesn't suit how we want to play

just wondering if that’s where these funds have come from, stepping away from Bird. You’re probably right though and I hope you are.

suspect we may delve into the loan market late window. It seems like the targets they've been talking about all summer working on are finally coming to roost so they're getting them done before moving on to other bits. I wouldn't be surprised though if Philogene/Davis deal takes up a lot of the headroom available though

Only stepped away from Bird 'cos he's out until November as far as I can see anyway.

We made 3 bids so I can't see us just deciding that's the end of it - unless they think we can cope until Jan and go back in then.

That and a keeper - but we did get a bit of headroom back at the end of last season with us freeing up Darlow and Pelkas wages - amongst others.
