Me too. I think a lot of young players get overlooked because of the club they're at. We look at Liam Delap and the fact that he's coming from Man City as a sign of quality, if he was coming from Burnley or West Ham, would people be as excited? Because Cannon was at Everton, which isn't a top six club (and also produced Liam Walsh), I think some managers overlooked him.

We got Longman from Brighton and he's got better and better the long he's been with us. Okay, he might not set the world alight but he's going to have a career near the top end of the EFL.

I agree with you on Longman except replace top end with bottom end.

The supercomputer has us finishing 15th. (i.e. no progress from last season)
Probably accurate based on our squad at this point in time.

Last season, it predicted a 12th finish for us.
It did have the three promoted teams in the top 8 although got the top 2 completely wrong with Norwich and Watford.

Had we not had so many injuries, 12th would probably have been about right.

Can we knock this idea on the head that 4/5 incoming is anywhere near enough.

From last season we've lost:
Darlow
Elder
Pelkas
Ebiowei
Connolly

Woods and Fig....
Oscar & Greaves look like they're off
Fleming and Sinik were shipped out by LR as not fancied.
... Longman was cut from the 18 last season for Ebiowei last season too and I don't think he's rated either. And we were still short of wingers

I've not even mentioned Doch either
Bloody hell, I hope they've fitted a turnstile on the gate in Cott..

Really? Just one winger? In January we had Pelkas & Ebiowei yet we still wanted another winger in De La Fuente. We've now lost both yet you think only one winger coming is alright.

And yes, looking at the outgoings, we're going to be looking at double figures in signings again because we need to. We need to get players moved on and that wage bill down. If that's a top 8/11 budget as Tan mentioned, the value we got from it was terrible and playing it back with largely the same squad and expecting a different outcome is stupid
Of course we need at least 2 wingers, I said the priority is 5. We will probably get more, but it also depends on the players we have getting rid of, or players like Longman, Sunil & Vaughn managing to build themselves in preseason into the players we need.
Yes it probably will be 10, but like I said, I think the initial priority will be 5, but there’s no point bringing in 10 players if they’re all going to be like Pelkas & Malcolm!

Without looking at the super computer and being the super computer that I am.. <laugh><laugh>

I'm guessing

1. Southampton
2. Leicester
3. Leeds
4. Middlesbrough
5. West Brom
6. Watford
7. Sunderland
8. Blackburn
9. Millwall
10. Norwich

or something like that... I suspect last season the Super Computer had Luton about 10th.

Remember gimps, it's a bench of 9 for next season. Plenty of chances for squad to develop and get game time.

We currently have five wingers in Ally, Longman, Sinik, Vaughan and Covil. We only need one more if we keep all of these. I don’t think the value of budget last year was terrible. We finished 10th/11th from the date Rosie came in and this was despite not having a striker for many weeks. If we sell some of our established players like Greaves and Oscar then we may need more in but otherwise 5 looks about right.

Has he? He had a great first 6 months and has struggled like hell since

Snodgrass always was and probably always will be a snake

But, for three years he was OUR snake - in that time you could never fault his commitment or effort; so he wanted out and angled to get it when we were relegated? Big deal, at his stage of career who could blame him for not wanting a 'relegation clause' pay cut? I loved seeing the dirty white ****e twat (cos that's what he is now) playing in black and amber.

I swear people are delusional. Covil was criticised on here a fair amount in the brief time we saw him and he didn't look ready, Vaughan is still young, Sinik was loaned out as LR didn't want him and Longman was in and out of the 18 at the end of the season.

Yet we only need 1 winger, of course we do. Don't worry about scoring goals lads, we don't need them
