I'd be happy enough investing elsewhere and giving Lo-Tutala the opportunity. I guess Rosie has seen something that suggests he's not ready though.

What makes someone ready? Surely someone must stand out somewhere as ready.
How do you get ready if you don’t get games, lo tutala isnt ready, David robson isn’t ready. I’d put money on these 2 don’t make 10 appearances between them before we ship them out permanently.
Simons isn’t ready, I wonder who decided Harry Vaughan was ready….or did we just give him a game

Stick a knitting needle in them and if it comes out dry then they're ready.

Hang on, that's soufflés.

As you were.
They used to test if Parma Ham was ready by sticking a tusk in it and withdrawing it. The one guy in the whole of Parma who did it just knew by the feel of it. His dad passed down the knowledge. Now it's a massive needle I think.

One of several boring facts I've heard 50 times or more when entertaining clubs at errea over the years. Never saw myself seeing an opportunity to re-tell it, and certainly not on a summer transfer thread on a Hull City forum.

By that metric, why not just stick a random player from the U18s in the first team and just keep doing that until we find a player?

The term "ready" means that their ability is at least as good as the first team equivalent of their position, these lads are watched in games by plenty of people, if they think they're good enough, they're invited to train with the first team. Lo-Tutala crossed that bridge, he just needs to fight is way in past Matt Ingram and whoever else comes in. Which is exactly what pre season is for.

Is Tim LT as good as Ingram? That's the question to ask when looking at youth players like that. If Cartwright, who has played for England U20s, got nowhere near our first team and we brought in Darlow, is it hard to believe Lo-Tutala isn't quite there yet?

Rosie is under pressure to get the club towards the top end of the division and as nice as it is to believe we have an academy brimming with talent, the truth is that most of the lads in there won't make a career in the game outside of non-league.
