i don’t agree with this, no where near as bad as an Allam window. That season we went up we signed some absolute ****e. We got a couple wrong last year but a good few have become important players for us and improved us as a side. Once more deadwood gets moved along and a few more of quality in under Rosie for a full year I see us pushing top half. A far cry from sitting 20th with McCann with J Magennis up top.
We finished 19th with a bottom 3 budget last season, we finished 15th with a top 8 budget this season. We’ve gone backwards after last summers recruitment from that perspective.

I’m not particularly worried but it’s worth mentioning that Bristol City have signed three very good players who will improve their squad already. That’s what I would consider getting business done early. I don’t think Rosenior’s goal of getting most of his 5-6 targets in before returning to pre-season is likely.
Norwich have signed 5 I think inc Ashley Barnes and Tom ince

Bristol City have spent 10.5 m Euros on one guy from Bournemouth and bugger all on the others on the site I looked at , couldn’t see three quality players referred to earlier. Have you seen a different review?
Mind you can’t see us parting with that sum!

Check again. They sold a player to Bournemouth for £10.5 million.

Not sure why everyone takes the "business early" comments seriously, what else are managers/clubs going to say and of course everyone would love so all their business early. But unfortunately we live in the real world
Was going to say exactly this. Pre season not even started yet, some not even hired managers so some players futures have another month before it’s decided, some even longer.

Which is fine but then it’s another case of Rosenior saying things for the sake of it. If he said ‘I hope that we’ll have most of our business done by the first game of the season’ it would be more realistic. By publicly saying several times he wants most of his recruitment done before pre-season, he’s set an unrealistic expectation and will rightly catch some criticism for it if it doesn’t work out. I get that he’s a young, enthusiastic coach but he needs to be a bit more reserved when speaking to the media. If the owner or coach of a football club makes a statement of intent, it’s reasonable that fans take their word for it.

I’m certain all managers say they want it done early though. You’re kidding yourself if you took his word for it, managers always take in press conferences in an ideal sense not a realistic sense
