It's strange though, I don't see the point in delaying it unless it impacts our squad size. Which I suppose it might, but then if we're going to sign him in January we'd have to get rid of someone then.. Surely we're paying him a wage?

Yeah you would think we are paying him a wage, i don't think we will wait until January considering he will be fit before then. (Allegedly) Its just a strange one isnt it...

Why would they sell greaves or oscar if they are trying to improve us. I really hope that doesn't happen

Because it's football. Tan's interview with the Yorkshire Post was pretty clear that they just want another year from Greaves.

If players progress quicker than us, it's a short career and as we've seen with KLP, the money is huge. We really shouldn't see selling players as a bad thing.

I'd rather we didn't use that philosophy with every player..

There was an interesting interview with an ex-Barnsley player who said he hated his time at the club because the club had no loyalty to players and treated them as commodities for buying and selling. That to me runs counter to Acun's notion of City being a family. How can we sell the image of a family club to players if we just buy and sell players at a whim if it'll bring in money for us? If they want to go, that's one thing, but we shouldn't be pushing them out the door.

Think Shark’s point was if Oscar say bags 20+ goals which is looking likely he’ll be gone if we don’t go up easy

Pretty much

Yeah I more meant Tan's comment about only wanting a year out of Greaves. We should want him to stay his entire career if he wants to be here.

Of course we want him to stay, but there has to be an acceptance that once he's ready for the PL and a club makes a suitable offer then it would be wrong to stand in his way (assuming we aren't a PL club). I really respect him for signing the long term deal as it means we'll get a very good fee for him

And I don't see how we can manage to sign the loanees like Pelkas permanently unless we raise some funds.

I get that point and like I said if he wants to go I wouldn't stand in his way. I think back to sales such as Chester who was basically crying when we sold him because he didn't want to leave. I love forming a connection to our players and don't like the idea of selling them just to make a buck. Maybe a silly comparison but I look at a Ben Mee at Burnley (I know he's no longer there) or even McShane with us for 7 years, and having a player of that long standing.

I don't think we'll ever be pushing players out the door.

I think Tufan will be here for the duration. I can't see him wanting to leave and the lad is a PL player

Baz running a webchat all day

He said not happening to this lad.

4 is the plan today, seems like a winger and a player who can cover a range of positions (left back)

Both good pedigree and very good ages, not a clue what that means.

Lots of pedigree of a good age here.
