Not a summer 22 transfer story, but Cardiff have lost their case with CAS and have been instructed to pay for Emiliano Sala, they've said they're going to digest the news then appeal, not sure to who, I know most clubs would do the same on this, but they really are acting like ****s over this

Might bring to a halt their spending spree.

They'll drag it out as long as is humanly possible, I suspect it'll not be done and dusted in this transfer window. 13m to a champ club is a LOT of cash tho, going to be a massive hit.

What's the betting the EFL allow them to weasel out of FFP restrictions as a result of this, even though they've known they'd probably have to pay it for years?

Newcastle United have completed the signing of striker Alexander Isak for a club record £58m fee.
Been impressed with NUFC's approach to transfers since getting their hands on blood money, they've seemingly not gone down the Citeh route of chucking money at ****.....but this has the potential to be a bad signing, 60m on a striker who's bagged 33 in 100 games doesn't scream this lad's shooting us to the top 6

I'd not have an issue with this having 'special' treatment from an FFP perspective, it is a tough case, but regardless of FFP, its still 13m out the door for sadly no return

Are you 100% positive that any Club, ours included, would act any differently?

Sadly. I'm not, but they are appealing the fact they had to pay it, so could have planned other spending accordingly. Doubt they will have. It'll probably take years for them to exhaust all possibility of appeal though. I know it's tragic at a personal level, but did we get our money back when Mason had to retire? No, we had to absorb the cost.

They are restricted as to what they can spend though.
