I just thought I’d see if Cartwright was playing for Peterborough, it seems they prefer their Chelski loanee, so might be a waste of a loan on both parts.

It's obviously frustrating about Greaves but it certainly doesn't mean that he's off to Boro.

We've got enough time until January to get the contract sorted. I would rather us pay him, but I don't know what the situation is. A few months ago it looked like Salah would be leaving Liverpool after he turned down a few contracts, then all of a sudden he signed

Because they broke their wage structure and paid him what he wanted.

Remember when McCann inexplicably dropped Ingram and Baxter kept the shirt til the next time he got injured?

McCann has agreed hell get game time. He's in rotation with the other loanee - when fit.

McCann has his faults but he does keep promises.

It's probably just brinkmanship. As long as either side don't miscalculate then it'll probably get sorted. Dunno whether you listen to the under the cosh podcasts with the beast himself?

As well as being a laugh it might be an insght into what can go on with players and contracts, negotiations etc...

My point is using salah as an example is a poor one if you think City won't or shouldn't cave into his demands as that's exactly what Liverpool did.

Didn't you use it a couple of months ago?

Or is it now the he's actually signed it doesn't fit your narrative?

If Greaves wants to stay and we do too, then they'll find a compromise between now and January, as I'm sure Liverpool and Salah did.

I will never go Into individual financial info as 1 I don't think it's fair on individuals to have their personal stuff discussed in public and 2 I can never be 100% sure it's correct..... But from what I've been told, we have made him a very good offer ( imo ) for a player of his age and stage in his career which wouldn't put him level with players like seri for example but certainly inline with with the core of the squad. His side wants more ££ and a shorter deal.

How true all that is I can't say as it's only what I have been told by an agent I know. ( He's not involved in the deal btw )

Personally I hope he stays, I think he will stay. But I also think he/his party need to be sensible and understand his stage of career and development and not look at players like tufan/seri and automatically think they should be level with them in terms of wage / bonus etc
'If' the figures thrown around on here regarding the salary of Seri,Tufan et al are anywhere near accurate(and I'm not saying they are or are not),then it stands to reason that some of our remaining players might become slightly miffed?

How much squabbling did Seri have to do to get what he regarded as a decent wage or did he just say"that's what I'm looking for, take it or leave it)? If the Club are prepared to meet fairly 'large' wage demands(by Championship standards) to the foreign influx but haggle on the low side for players like Honeyman and Greaves then they will inevitably lose players that we don't particularly want to be losing..

The monster may well have been created...

It's always going to be the way when new money comes into a club. The clubs valuation of Seri and Tufan was higher than that of Honeyman. Technically they are better players with potentially higher ceilings, and its within the clubs rights to have a valuation - the same as it is within the players rights to disagree.

Now whether it's the right valuation or not is a matter of opinion, and ultimately league table.

Right now though, if you could send Ozan back and re-sign Honeyman would you?

I wouldnt.

Yes,it's the disagreeing side that appears to be the issue and that,in essence, is what I'm alluding too.

If there is a huge disparity then it will cause issues.

Huh? My point months ago was that clubs are prepared to keep good players even if it risks them leaving for free. An entirely different point. No idea what you're on about.

Liverpool didn't compromise, they caved.

It isn't a one or the other situation though so painting is as such is disengenuous.
