I think there's a bit of a difference in nature of goals scored. It's like being surprised if Bristol City didn't want to sign Deano after 2008 or Sheff Weds not wanting to sign Diame. Don't think that attitude would be that uncommon.

But we signed Jackson Irvine for that exact reason after he put a stellar performance in for us for Burton Albion. People have different perceptions of players, I totally understand that, but to allow those perceptions to override the quality of a player just wouldn't happen from a professional point of view.

Obviously if the player is a criminal or has done something ****ing mental then yeah I'd understand it more.

Sorry but Irvine playing well in a loss in the league is surely not being equated to beating us in a Cup final. No one's saying the club shouldn't sign him for that reason just that we're personally against it.

It's moot as he's not coming but seriously..

I just don't think it matters that much, if you can't look past that, what the hell kind of transfer policy would you have? "Oh he stopped us getting to the playoffs, don't you dare sign him".

Paul Pogba scored the goal that stopped us getting to our first ever League Cup final, if we were after him, you'd say no? (Him being a massive twat aside.)

Fair enough, I hold a particular resentment against Ramsey that's unmatched by almost any other player and want him nowhere near City. It's basically a one and only of that type so can't really comment on other comparisons. I imagine there's plenty of other City fans like that. Each to their own though.

I blame Kieran Gibbs. If he hadn't cleared Alex Bruce's header off the line that was 3-0, game over, no extra time and no need to hate Ramsey

Yeah of course, I’m the same with BF Lee Tomlin.

The thing that really pissed me off about that was that he celebrated the goal.

Didn’t we do something similar last season. The one from Swansea who scored a free kick then we took him on loan .
Think he played once.

Can we sign a couple of full backs now please. Don’t play strikers at wing backs. Just buy two. We won’t be anywhere near the play offs without signing two.

Fully agree. When you play the formation we're playing, especially the 532/5212 like yesterday, we need better quality in the wingback position. Im thinking back to Robertson, Brady, Odubajo, Elmohamady etc. Acun definitely had a sniff at a left back in Turkey, the guy that just signed for Rangers I think, so we had the intention to bring someone in.

It's kind of odd to strengthen in every other position except at wingback, especially now with Fleming out for a while and no real cover for Coyle.. hopefully its something we're looking at in the background, although I fear we're happy with Elder & Ally on the left and the kid from the prem we've been linked with can apparently cover at right back..

Always remember Ken Wagstaff as City's inside right which was number 8. Inside left was Ken Houghton number 10, left wing Ian Butler number eleven. Right wing and always number seven was Ray Henderson. Number 9, centre forward, the great Chris Chilton. That was the 1965/66 team anyhow. Don't see why Waggy would suddenly start lining up at inside left.

That of course is correct. And I must admit I was puzzled by what is a # 10. Well one answer I have seen indicates that it’s someone who plays up front but somewhat behind the center forward and is more of a goal creator than a goal scorer. Well Waggy was so good he did both!

You can see it quite clearly on this and it's good to watch. Waggy number 8
