Forest have spent around £70 million in transfer fees alone so far this window, and that’s not including whatever signing-on fee they gave Lingard plus all the wages. I haven’t really been keeping track of how much newly-promoted teams spend these days, but is this the norm now?

Because by being promoted, you're guaranteed £170m over three seasons and if you survive, that number goes up to £300m. So spending £100m on wages and transfers could see your income treble in under a year if you get it right.

Fulham have spent about £30m in transfer fees , but then they had a decent squad already.
Forest like you say have spent about £70m, but arguably had the weakest squad.
Bournemouth have spent nothing at all so far, but they seem to get by on minimal spend so it'll be interesting to see how they get on.
