So at best it has been handled badly then because everyone knew he wanted away the minute the big clubs came knocking so why not take the higher offers?

If you're right he has sat and watched the price come down before realising KLP didn't want to stay. Seems to me Tiger Boy is right to be a bit cautious, we have seen very little happen yet, just a lot of promises and a very strange and jumbled way of announcing important things such as signings and kit. It wasn't long ago that some were going mad because he had moved them from E2 and E3.

For the record I think he will turn out to be a decent owner but not sure it is that ridiculous for people to be slightly concerned and it is unfair to question their loyalty. I fully appreciate some people would let Acun have a go on their wife because they are so in love with him but some want to see his promises become reality.

What big clubs have come knocking offering larger transfer fee? only 2 have made an approach for KLP and main one was Brentford with biggest offer.

Some only enquired about his availability and cost never made a bid.

He got best deal he could for a player wanting out.

And just to clear another up KLP wanted out when Allams were here way before the big clubs were even knocking at the door.

And original offers for KLP were £8 million so i don't think he has just sat and watched the price go down.

As for seen very little happen yet this is their first main Transfer window we have had some quality incomings and some to follow, Kit, Great pre season games, sponsorships and more to come as well, branding of the club and a team that believe in his Dream being assembled, pricing, increases in sales, i agree with you very little has happened in 6 months :emoticon-0138-think.

Christ i keep editing this every time i read it.

And don't forget Sinik he has not come to sit on the bench.

442?

Baxter
RB Greaves Fig Fleming
Allayhar Seri Tufan Sinik
Oscar Tetteh

I don't fancy Tufan is a 2-man centre mid pairing. Allayhar would be playing out of position. Genuinely struggle to figure out how all these new players, who as you say, won't be coming here to sit on the bench, fit into a starting 11...

Well like you i try to fit a formation in but i am sure shota has his ideas for the season and he will certainly have squad depth all i can say is it will be Ingram or Baxter in Goal :emoticon-0102-bigsm.

There is plenty of games especially with cup runs so enough games for them all to enjoy and rotate.

Tbh KLP is worth nowhere what he’s going for (well, he’s worth that to Brentford I guess). It’s just that the value of domestic talent is so inflated. We’ve got Allahyar for what, £4 million at most? KLP, Flynn Downes, Djed Spence, to name a few are going for outrageous fees after one decent season in the Championship.

That’s the market rate for a top performing Championship player. I’d argue we could and maybe should have got a bit more. That’s based on Djed Spence a right back valued at £20m. KLP has goals and assists on top.

I imagine Tufan has been brought in as first choice, but from what we’ve seen/heard about the new lads it seems a DM is needed to get the best out of them.

The business we’ve done suggests a 433 is preferred so it’ll be an odd one if we end up with 343 as our preferred formation. Unless shota thinks Seri/Tufan is robust enough as a 2 of course.

We need to be putting money into a right back and a holding midfielder if we are wanting to play 4 at the back.

I personally think we have the perfect holding midfielder in Alfie Jones if we wanted to play with 4 at the back. He's been great in the role every time I have seen him and I know going back a few seasons Gillingham fans said it was by FAR his best position and couldn't believe we had signed him.

With an offer like that on the table it was impossible to keep KLP here. Seems everybody is happy ? Acun has virtually got a Championship club for nothing, previous owners pocket a nice little windfall, KLP set up for life and Brentford think they've signed a future England international. Who ever KLP's agent is will also be smug today because he was hawking KLP around clubs and seemed to have a vested interest in pushing him in Brentford's direction over a year ago, and we wouldn't have got £16m for him if Ehab had of took the bait then.
Not sure previous owners get a windfall but you’ll know better than me, but apart from that agree with every word

Everton were reported to have bid 20 million and were told Acun would not accept less than 30. Reports suggested Brentford were offering 20 million but now have got him for 16. Still more than he is worth at this stage in his development for me but hardly a good look for an owner that said it would cost 30 mil to get him not so long ago.

We have signed some good players and I am excited for the new season but any fan has the right to reserve judgement.

Acun Said "if HE wants to STAY, I would not sell him for 30 Million"

“If he wants to stay I would not accept £30 million…”

Everton bid with about £2.5m up front apparently

New DM with pedigree required, finished 19th using players of Jones' ILK. Squaddies who can fill gaps but ultimately want to see all of them gone (bar Fleming/Greaves) within a maximum of 2 years. Wilks/T Smith/Cannon moved on far quicker with any luck.

My word, there's so much wrong with this post!

1) Acun said he wouldn't sell him for £30m if he wanted to stay (which he didn't) and this was clearly a tactic to get his price up and to show we weren't messing about.

2) Reports suggested £20m Brentford deal and we have sold him to Brentford in a £20m deal (they were never, ever offering £20m upfront and the deal we finally agreed is far better for us with more up front and more realistic add on targets than the initial deals banded about). It is quite rare in football that a £X million deal means £X million upfront.

3) Everton never came back with a bid after the asked how much we wanted. They would have been able to find out Brentford's deal quite easily and they haven't matched it. They don't really have any money at the minute and clearly weren't THAT interested.

Slightly harsh on Alfie Jones IMO as I see him as a class above the others mentioned.

He missed a fair chunk of last season because of injury, and think he'd easily fit into a mid/upper half championship team.

However, it doesn't always help development being a utility man that fits in a bit at right back, a bit in defensive midfield, and a bit as centre back

Better the devil you know..

Potentially a bit harsh, Jones can stick around as a utility man. The rest sent back to Grant and Cliff.
