League 1 players have been frowned upon by us for a while, yet it’s where Luton and Huddersfield have done majority of their business and it’s worked out for them. Need to strike the right balance. Forest spent loads on players from abroad and very few of them worked out. Hopefully ours are different<laugh>

It depends what you class as working, they are still in the championship

This is the guy who initially broke that the Seri deal was off. Google translate not really helping here, can't tell if he's saying it's back on are we're giving up

Just asked a Turkish guy I work with. He translated it as "Seri is back in the city today (again) and this time its likely Hull city transfer will be concluded."

Apparently we have made him a very very big offer and a rather large promotion bonus and wage increase

If so, Acun and Kesler can’t really use the excuse of not being held to ransom during contract negotiations imo. It must be a significant offer to turn his head after already turning us down once.

The likes of Greaves who we should be fighting tooth and nail to keep will be demanding an even bigger slice of the pie now.

I know he’s a good player but bit of a red flag to me that he turned us down and is now coming because we’ve offered more. At least he’s a free transfer I guess…

Greaves has to be tied down for me now though if we are doing this. He’s more than earnt it.

I think we've offered Greaves a pretty good deal, trebled his wages (though I don't know exactly what he was on already) and offered some pretty nice loyalty bonuses. I don't know whether he'll take it as it's still way less than the likes of Tufan will be on (though the latter is an experienced international).

It's not being held to ransom, it's paying what they feel each individual is worth and not just giving in to everyone's demands imo. Greaves is at the very early stages of his career and can't really expect wages the same as someone like seri etc

He never actually turned us down, he was looking at all options ( as I'd say anyone of us would do ) and I still think we'll struggle to sign him imo
