I don't think he'll ever be worth more than now for us anyway unless he signs a new deal.

The sun article says its £16m plus add ons. If that's legit, how do you turn it down?

I agree, I doubt he'll sign a new deal. He could be replaced with better for less from the continent. If it's £16m plus add-ons and a sell on % then I'd accept

We maybe shouldn't but if he has half a brain he can do better than Brentford !

He's a current England U21. If he has a good season at the top end of the Championship and establishes himself internationally, then why wouldn't he go for Bowen money with a year left on his deal?

Bowen was 6 months into his option year and we got 18m+ add ons so I don't get this 'hell be worth less' argument.

Also for the lad himself, another years progression he could be looking at a far more established Prem club than Brentford, Everton, Leeds et al who may well be championship clubs next season based on last seasons form.

That's like saying we may well be a league 1 club again based on last years form.

Bowen wasn't into his option year. He effectively had 18 months left, if we'd gave waited till the summer, we'd have got substantially less

Agreed HT....but the rumours (which are rumours ) state a number of clubs are interested.

There is other interested, but all clubs are interested in tons of different players. Atm nobody else is willing to pull the trigger at that price for the reasons I mentioned earlier

If the money being quoted is 16 mill and add ons, that could possibly go towards paying for someone with the quality of that Muriqi. It’d be a shame to lose a Hull lad with his talent but that money could go a long way to being better for the team overall. Out of our hands anyway, if he wants to leave I wish him the best of luck, if he stays that’s great news.

I agree entirely with this.
He’d go to the PL to primarily be a bench warmer. Stay & develop, get a better club, a better transfer fee and more money in his back pocket.

How do we get a better transfer fee if we wait?

He hits the ground running until January is the only way. By that point we’re either firmly midtable or well on our way to a top 6 finish. Then he has a choice to make but we are in a much stronger position. Only have to see how well he played in that 20 minute cameo with England u21s to see how good he can be around better players IMO.

If he stays it goes one of 2 ways for him imo.... He either accepts he's no longer the biggest fish in the pond and uses the talented players around him to become a much better all round player. Or he gets swallowed up by those better players and they leave him behind.

Or he potentially leave this summer for a contract that will make him comfortable for life and has little to no risk ( he goes and smashes it and he'll be a prem player, or he goes and tanks and he'll drop back down to the champ set for life financially and back to a level that suits him )
