Bit of a worry but if the new players work out then it's not the end of the world. But does bring back the original concerns with Shota as a manager (potentially), if we have a bad start I hope Acun has the ambition to make a change.
I don’t think you work with the likes of Van Gaal with hand gestures for show IMO. I agree though, he’s yet to prove himself and will be heavily scrutinised first 10 games.

Being an assistant is very different to the real thing. But yes, happy to keep an open mind, but the first 10-15 games is make or break.

I think one of his biggest problems if we do bring in as many as they are saying then it’s having the time for the team to gel. Never easy with so many changes. Good players will adapt but it’s how long it will take.

I can't remember exactly what was said and I can't find the post now, but Elder bumped into some lads on a night out and said Smallwood and Eaves were off and some of the players were not happy with Shota's training methods. Maybe someone else know where it was?

It still feels like they didn't agree with letting Grant go. They all seemed an extremely close and tight-nit group.

Disagree, it's not about who lines up game one, or even game five, it's how many games each player plays over the season and when we rotate, who comes in and how we perform.
Ok well it can only be judged when we see whatever any new midfielders bring to the side , I would have kept him if possible as can’t change too many things at once , but if we sign 3 or 4 midfielders , Who end up been brilliant then it will prove good . Same with any transfer window isn’t it, you aim to end up with better players then you started . Too many people panicking too soon IMO , let’s see what happens with rest of the window .

Yeah fair call.

That's the vibe I get. It's almost like the players are like us in not trusting a new manager being brought in who's a mate of the new owner. I guess if the players are turfed and better players come in and they perform then we can't really complain, but we lose a lot of the spirit and vibe of the side. I wonder how players like Ingram, Greaves, KLP, etc. will feel about their mates leaving..

I think it's dangerous to expand the allegation of disquiet to "the players", based on the actions of 2-3 individuals.

Ingram just signed a 3 year contract so his views on the matter are presumably fairly clear.

Id be very worried if they treat playing for our club as a kick about with their mates…

It's very harsh to say that about Shota, his pedigree in foreign leagues has been very good. I think Shota did a solid job last year with limited players.

I thought it started with Magennis, when Grant said he'd have given him a new contract. I just felt like the loyalty the players had towards the previous regime is standing in the way of progress.

Ingram has signed up, he knew what was happening, I can't see Greaves or KLP complaining as we're bringing in a higher quality of player than the ones leaving. The 3 midfielders coming in have all gone or been linked with 8 figure moves in the past and they're all seasoned internationals too

Don't think it's harsh. Jury is still out on Shota, and we'll see how he goes over the first half of this season with no excuses for performances like Bristol City away and a few others last season.
