George H was great for us in League 1 - he struggled when we got dumped out of the Championship the season before and he was certainly one of the better players when we finished near the bottom last season - reality check needed - if we are to go to the next level and challenge for the top six in the Championship then we need better players - George was great for what he did and gave 100% - time to move on though and look towards signing better players who will take us to the next level - I for one wish him well
Hull City playmaker George Honeyman is leaving Hull City to join Championship rivals Millwall, after rejecting the club's latest offer of a new contract.
City will get a nominal fee for the 27-year-old former Sunderland ace after the club activated his option year at the end of last season, but it's understood Honeyman made clear his desire to leave the MKM Stadium and pursue a fresh challenge and so owner Acun Ilicali has reluctantly allowed him to move on having turned down two increased offers.
It's expected Honeyman will be in London on Monday to finalise his move to The Den and go through a medical with the South London outfit, with personal terms already agreed in principle.
If, as expected, everything goes smoothly, Honeyman will join up with Gary Rowett's side in Ireland where they are at their pre-season training camp in Fota Island, Cork.

Gutted, Honeyman had very quickly become my favourite city player. Ah well.
Strange one, unless something behind the scenes has put his nose out of joint, then either Millwall have offered him a much-improved deal, or he just doesn't feel he is going to get into the starting eleven on a regular basis. I guess TWT whether he has made the right choice.
Living down in London compared to being up here is a big increase in living expenses, so one assumes he has taken that into consideration.

Honeyman was our best player for the last couple of seasons, a fabulous player to have in L1 or battling relegation in the Championship. But how many times did we play one of the teams pushing for promotion and think yeah, Honeyman would walk into that side. Of course it's sensible to keep players who are popular in the dressing room and important to team spirit, but only if they want to stay even knowing they won't be a regular starter (e.g. James Milner at Liverpool). None of us know the exact truth of what's been happening, but it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to think Honeyman wants to go somewhere where he'll be the no. 1 choice in his position, and City don't want to keep anyone who doesn't want to stay. This seems like the right decision for both sides.
If it was that, then surely they could take a few sentences out here and there or at least try to use less words?

Gutted about George my favourite player of recent times. I don't see from his,record why I should believe Traore will offer more over a 46 game season in one of Europe's toughest leagues but hope I'm wrong. I do feel the team is being broken up too quickly. Really no idea what to expect this season.
So we're paying them 0.3m. Odd.
My player of the year last year. I'm concerned enough about Tufan and Traore without losing the solidity and experience of those that got us here.
Not sure Sunderland will be above us….and a few others..

I can't remember exactly what was said and I can't find the post now, but Elder bumped into some lads on a night out and said Smallwood and Eaves were off and some of the players were not happy with Shota's training methods. Maybe someone else know where it was?
Bit of a worry but if the new players work out then it's not the end of the world. But does bring back the original concerns with Shota as a manager (potentially), if we have a bad start I hope Acun has the ambition to make a change.
