£5m isn't peanuts. Allahyar is costing £2m, Haji Wright is costing similar if we get him and even Pesic who we tried for in Jan was costing around the same.
It just goes to show the premium you have to pay for young English talent. It's a real shame to miss out on him but we could get Haji and Allahyar and still have change for what we'd have to pay for Twine.

I don’t get the hype over Kalvin Phillips tbh. He’s on par with Ward-Prowse in terms of technical ability and work-rate imo. £42 million for him is daft.
The quality of the goals are different though. Twine has an abundance of technical ability that would see him score goals in any league, hard to say the same about Wilks.
Add to that motivation and work rate and you can see why one is going for 5m and the other 200k
More English players under Pep is only a good thing for the NT though IMO.
