Yes, and those are the deals usually announced near to deadline day.

I've not gone over the top, I've just said the speed we've done our business is outstanding, which it has been.

I'm sure some will be announced next week and probably some more the week after too. They're also the first proper signings of Acun's reign and he might want to tie in new sponsors or anything.

Those deals are announced at all sorts of times. As I pointed out, Cardiff have already signed a free transfer from Europe with no issues, and half the clubs in the league have signed at least one player, many of whom are free transfers (meaning 'technically' they are still under contract with their previous club).

I never said you'd gone over the top. I made a general comment that you then replied to, that didn't mean subsequent repeating of that comment is now directed at you.

But the signing is done when the contract is signed, but once it is we then have to apply for a work permit and visas. And these bits do have a tendency to take a while and it doesn't make sense to announce them until all this stuff is completed.
Foreign signings also need International clearance from their Football Associations

You're all forgetting that Acun is Turkish.

Haggling is important to their culture, and we have to assume that Acun is an expert in this.
So we may not officially just be bartering with cash. He has a media company so who knows what complicated "perks" are being negotiated besides currency.

Shopping & Bargaining in Turkey
  1. Don't show enthusiasm for the item you want.
  2. Decide what you think a piece is worth to you.
  3. Let the shopkeeper (or football chairman) quote the first price.
  4. If you buy several items, get a discount.
  5. Don't haggle over pennies.
  6. Don't be afraid to walk away… (and perhaps come back).

Spot on. I think having mouthpieces in the media who are able to report on deals being done or close to done, and all these players taking huge pay cuts puts pressure on other players to sign on if they want to be involved in the project. Until things are announced and signed on the dotted line its all just paper talk.

For what it's worth, an example of a club announcing a player who doesn't officially sign until July 1:

You must log in or register to see media

An example of a club announcing a player 'pending' certain paperwork:

You must log in or register to see media

So yes it does happen at this time of year, not just close to the deadline.

Until things are announced, they aren't done.

We know some signings are sorted, Acun’s confirmed them himself, the way the club decide to announce them is entirely up to them.

I don’t know why anyone’s concerned, Acun’s very good at this stuff.

Who's concerned?

Acun also confirmed the free trip to Turkey for June, then August, now September.. He's a bit excitable is our owner. Believe his wording on Tufan was that it was 95% done or something to that effect anyway.

Until the deals are announced they're just speculative.

I don't think I'm overly concerned as I'm sure we'll start the season with a better squad than last year. HT has also suggested the club are finding it harder to tie down deals than expected so for me, unless the club/Acun announces deals as done then I'm siding with Sydney in thinking Shark is being possibly over-confident in our progress at this timepoint.

Tufan;s waiting for a work permit according to a Turkish journalist on Twitter.
After the American news, which baz was asked to keep quiet about, he was asked who the second players is but couldn't say yet.

Find it slightly amusing he's not allowed to mention the player names and then the scoop gets broken by a Turkish journo. He must be a bit annoyed at not being allowed to break an exclusive.

Think it's Traore waiting on a permit, can't imagine Tufan (whose just spent a season on loan at Watford) would have much trouble getting one. Heard his was being held up because of some clause about who we're allowed to sell him to.

I'm just going by what I read on Twitter Syd, those I'm pretty sure are genuine anyway.

I'm in the camp that believe 3 have already been done, however, 2 of them have been waiting for work permits and visas. These will be announced when that formality is completed.

Seri, Wright and Twine are being worked on as is Baxter, which having let Harvey go out on loan, leads you to believe Baxter may well return on loan again or permanently.

Acun is very media savvy, and he will want to get maximum publicity, maybe including new sponsors in the announcements. Just be patient all will be revealed in good time.
