Well, why are we thinking about selling a player on who hasn't even signed for us yet? Not every player needs to have sell on value, what we need are players that come in and lift us to the next level. If he comes in for a season, does well and then goes off on a free transfer, so be it.

He won't come in on a high wage, at his age he isn't in a position to ask for one which is just as well because we aren't going to give him one.

He’s already rejected a two year deal at €25k a week with his current club, so he definitely is asking for a high wage and with Fenerbache in for him, he may well get it.

Well then like I said, he won't come in on a high wage. Fenerbahce can offer it, they might because he's been one of the best players in that division for a while, but they can because they're loaded.

The clubs recent signing strategy which darnborough manages suggests that we don't sign players in their 30's, Hudds excepted and we all saw how that didn't work out. At face value not convinced he would improve us and again potentially looks to be on too big a wedge.

Pessimism on this board sometimes… Spurs are signing Perisic, age doesn’t mean what it once did. Also course this bloke starts he’s torn apart teams like Galatasary and is European level quality. Insane to suggest he wouldn’t start if we landed him

Not sure i agree with this take, his team just achieved CL qualification and won the league course he would improve us we’d been playing Longman and Eaves half the season…

No issue ref age, I'd welcome Curtis Davies back with open arms, but suspect that won't happen either. Happy to be proven wrong.

He's a left winger so unless KLP is on his way then any comparison against Eaves and Longman is relatively meaningless, albeit I accept any better replacement for Eaves isn't going to be too difficult a task for Tan to achieve who seems to be well connected

True, we do favour younger players, but that doesn't mean every signing will be a youngster. Smallwood was 29 when we signed him and you mentioned Huddlestone too, we got done over in our relegation season because we didn't have enough experienced pros in the squad.

He would definitely improve us, I don't think KLP will stay this season from what I've heard, I think it's likely he'll leave (not cheaply though), so we do need options out wide. He's the kind of player you'd want to come on when the game is heading into the last quarter, give tired defenders something to think about.

On paper, Nwakaeme would be a pretty insane signing. He was statistically the highest rated player in the Turkish League this season.

It seems fairly clear from linked players so far that we'll be playing with wingers too and at present we've only got KLP, Wilks and Longman at the club. Considering 2 of those will probably leave, it leaves us very short. I'm assuming Allahyar will probably play there though

When you consider some of the players in that league, to be up there with the best is very impressive. Some players bloom late, Eran Zahavi sped up as he got older, scored 11 for PSV last season (249 in 437 over his career). He'd be worth a look on a free.

I think you're completely right. There's so much value around the globe, we just need to find it. I think a lot of supporters will take a bit of time to adjust as bringing in foreign imports is often seen as risky. When in reality it's not really. Any decent young player in the Championship will be worth £8-10m, so if we're bringing in £2m players. As long as 1 in 4/5 is a success you'll break even. And with half decent recruitment, that's pretty simple.

We also need to mix the ages up too, I don't think we have anybody left at the club over 30 now, which is a cause for concern.

For those ITK, or actually pay attention to wages, what sort of top wages are we already paying & what are we likely to pay? I’m guessing somewhere between 7-20k?
It seems we have room to manoeuvre in that area, but I wouldn’t want us to be going OTT on that front either.

On KLP I agree, I think Acun is hoping to keep him, but talking the price up so if they do get a good bid then they get top dollar for him.

If, and I just say we got £20M for him, you can buy a few players in from other leagues around £2m each and have room to pay them a decent wage, just from these proceeds.

From what I have seen so far, Tan Kesler is a shrewd operator, and he and the owner will have all options covered.
