Not knocking him but he ain't gonna get that much space in the Championship nor come up against a keeper who appears to have no arms.
Not sure about this. Jones and Figs have been error prone in recent games which was nothing to do with what's in front of them. Not wishing to be negative about the number of midfielders but still think we're short of CB cover and a true CF if Oscar gets injured.
I would take another centre back, albeit Simon’s is seemingly being labelled as capable of playing right side of a back 3
Very true, however im choosing to ignore this and am viewing him as the best young English prospect in history.

Tell Shota that as he signed a youth player on loan from Arsenal even though he’s injured and we’re already crippled with injuries. Like buying 3 parkas in the middle of summer.

You do remember that Matt Smith came from Man City’s academy on loan and people on here thought he was highly-rated and would make a difference? Not saying Simons or Vale would turn out like Smith did here but signing youngsters on loan from Premier League academies is very hit or miss.
Vale has just signed a 4 year deal though, Matt Smith seemed to be frozen out after McCann’s row with Wales
I think there's a mental side to it though. They are having to get more involved with the ball, which is surely adding more pressure on them (especially Figs from the looks of it).
Matt Smith was nowhere near the Man City squad. Harvey Vale especially is on the cusp of the Chelsea squad and he’s 3 years younger.
I think it was because there was no one in the middle showing for it too readily too often , then would you as a defender dare give it to them ? I notice that when we aren’t playing well our midfielders turn backwards with the ball on auto , not forwards . Meyler did it, Doch did it and various others . Not knocking them as players but if you have no outlet you might dither and get caught?
Is Vale going to get in ahead of Tufan, Seri, Woods, Slater, Pelkas, Traore, Sinik?
Gunna be a killjoy and call out that i'm getting a bit worried by just how many players we're signing up here, our wage bill is going to be utterly mental and when players come back from injury we'll have a lot of players on a decent wedge not playing, and some of them not even making the bench! Feels like some of the loan signings may have been made with seeing us through to Jan in mind....
in cm alone we're looking at picking 3 from, Slater, Seri, Tufan, X Simmons, vale, salah, pelkas, woods, cannon, doc and jones!!! 11 players for 3 positions! Would feel a touch more comfortable if some were on their way but it doesn't sound like that's the case
