That's not how FFP works with signings. <doh> You can't 'structure' a fee differently to get around FFP. Amortisation is done on a flat basis. When the cash is actually paid has no bearing on that.

Yes you can. Quite easily, with a lower guaranteed fees and easily achieveable add-ons e.g. a large payment after 45 appearances

Fair enough yes that's true if the selling club agrees to it. But again that's no different to a loan with an option broadly speaking which was my point.

Utterly ridiculously bad luck. No idea what we do about it.

I doubt Salah has even trained with us, so we were probably aware before signing him.
Alarm bells were ringing for me when Doc said they’d barely done any fitness work pre season and it was mainly technical. I’m not sure if that’s played it’s part but it did seem unusual

There's no difference to a loan with an obligation. If we wanted to get round FFP, that's the deals we'd be doing

Considering the bulk of injured players were here last season it seems odd to me

Exactly, C Jones isn’t going to play so give one of the attackers a chance. Simms or Snelgrove otherwise we have no game changing positions on the bench

It's certainly a fair point that Simms probably deserves a spot on the bench after a hat trick tonight. There's no point having Mills and McLoughlin on there

Given how open the club have been about everything, the lack of communication on injuries is strange.
We don’t have a timescale on 90% of players. I don’t think they’ve even acknowledged Seris injury, there’s the whole Traore situation. Fleming has been hobbling on crutches for a month but I don’t think they’ve said what his injury actually is.

Even just to give the senior players a rest in pre-season where the result doesn't matter would have been better.

I don't disagree. I was surprised how few we used. I think they've tried to get them mega fit for the season but just over done it. It didn't help that we signed a fair few who hadn't been training either.

Theres also this notion, that the risk of getting injured is higher when you sign for a new team as all training is different and your body isn't used to it.

Was Fleming even announced as injured? Just saw something on here about it but don't think the club said anything.
