It's not a high profile signing though, is it?

The lad started training with us and has clearly impressed and seemingly earned himself a 3 year deal.

Long term, it might be a fantastic signing, but if it doesn't work out then so be it.

It's not like now we've signed him, we're no longer looking for an AM

Frances first choice U19 GK is fairly high profile imo.

I'm surprised he's willing to come to us, he turned down a contract at Spurs in order to go out and get game time, yet he's coming to us as number 3

If they think Cartwright is too good to be u21s and 3rd choice, so send him out on loan, but they think Robson needs a season in men's football to be a feasible 3rd choice. Then spurs release an u19s stopper with a bit of pedigree they Baz Richardson thinks is worth a punt, then why not?

Yes absolutely, my confusion was with the suggestion from some he would be in the first team, and at least temporarily he will be, sitting on the bench, so I just wondered where that left things come season's end when we more than likely sign Baxter permanently. It's why I asked the question about whether we were considering selling Ingram while his stock is high and making Cartwright the number two for next season potentially. That's all. I think some misinterpreted that as me being negative when it was genuinely just a question about how we were going to manage our keeper stocks.

I'd say in that situation, then it gives us a bloody good set of options next summer and it's astute business.

maybe ...he`s just a good prospect. That some sensible people at our club think will be a good asset in the future...

Could well be which was actually why my thinking was if we're starting to buy and sell players as a profitable exercise I wonder if it means we'd be looking to sell Ingram. His stock will be highest this Jan/maybe next Summer if he plays a decent number of games, but will then decline when he's a number two to Baxter.

Theres a lot of if and buts there before we can assume that.

He's just signed a new deal. We can assume he's in the clubs plans.

Starting to? That was the model the Allam's had been following for most of their ownership.

The current owner has clearly stated he's buying and selling players to get us promoted!!

A Keeper can be a playing asset as well as a financial one. I think Artic Tiger was talking about the prior.
