If Acun has the big money behind him (Murat Ulker supposedly) then my thoughts are they are going to make a modest (still decent for us over recent years) investment this coming season, with the aim to push up the league and assess exactly what is required to make the PL and how well the management team are performing and are they up to the ultimate job of getting us up. Then they'll splash what they think is enough to get promoted. No guarantees of course but money does talk. So I'm thinking they are looking at it as a 2-3 year project, and if it happens sooner happy days.
We could replace him for 30 million...you could buy a better player for that! Or as others have said, strengthen all over the pitch.
Yeah he would, I hope he has a good chance at the u21s because that could push someone to pay abit sillier money. 4 games too you’d imagine he starts at least 1/2. As for his replacement, Allahyar is here. I’m quite shocked (in a good way) at how little holiday he’s given himself. Everyday on his Instagram is him training, we’ve got a real coup on our hands and he has the work ethic of managers dreams. A proper midfielder will get him 15 goals because of his venomous pace.
He’d prob play it by saying the player wanted to go, so no other option. I think we have Bowen to thank if we make a load here, some bigger clubs than wet spam regretting they never picked him up. And some fearing they make the same mistake twice.
Think that's a big factor. KLP has shown a lot of natural talent too and I think if he applies himself he can be a better player, but that's not to say he will unless he applies himself.
Does he though? Clubs say that kind of thing all the time, then settle for less. It's more often the case than not, isn't it?
It is and they always look a little stupid imo. Just don't go chucking figures about in the public domain and the situation is avoided easily
I think that's exactly it. People passed on Bowen because they didn't think he'd make it, completely ignoring his work
So the guy who announced Allahyar in January is claiming we still want Fernando but Hull live suggest otherwise…
Well I know who I believe and it's not Hull Live. This bloke's clued in to all the Turkish sides transfers.
One thing that has bugged me is that we had a 90 min press conference last week and we've literally had audio/video of 25 mins of it. I think it was Mike White who said they haven't released some bits due to professional courtesy but they've literally released nothing since he said that. I don't get why we bother to have a press conference if we don't get to find out what was said
Not really, he just says 'we wanted to keep him but the player made it clear he wanted to go, we would have kept him but we don't want an unhappy player'. As others have said, perhaps him slapping a £30m price tag on KLP will encourage higher bids. As you yourself said if we get a bid anywhere near £20m (or more) we'd be daft not to take it if KLP is not going to sign a contract extension.
Anything close to £15m would be a fantastic deal for KLP. It's going to be interesting to see whether Acun saying he won't sell him for £30m brings up his value. From the brief bits I've seen of the two wingers we've been linked with El Kaabi seems a like for like replacement
El Kaabi is a striker though I’m pretty sure, highly rated by Morrocan twitter football fans though which is good
