It seems that whilst we weren’t triggering George’s contract extension, or talking to him about a new contract, Millwall jumped in & spoke to him, convinced him they wanted him. So he’d already decided to go before we even hit his extension, it seems Millwall made him fee wanted.
If this is true, it’s slightly disappointing, especially when they were saying they were talking to players about new contracts.

Reminds me of Smallwood I think? Who said he'd heard nothing from the club despite Shota claiming we were talking to him over a new contract.

Hugely disappointing and puts the new owners and manager in a poor light.
One of the stupidest decisions for a long time letting George go.

If your ambition is to aim higher then the Championship then some players who will only ever be Championship level will be the inevitable casualties.
Plus Karen said there was that gossip about his missus so it may not have been in the owners gift to make him stay.

It amazes me how many people forget there is a very simple solution to all this.

Peaceful life.
I enjoy reading most of the comments, but not the bickering. If that could be moved onto another thread, then we can have the best of both worlds. I don't like ignoring people, we all have some good and some bad in us.

If you use it selectively, then it works fine.
I usually reserve it for those who can't take personal banter, rather than those who I just disagree with.

The trouble with that is, putting two or three posters on ignore, makes it all unintelligible.

I mean you'll read replies to posters that
you hadn't read. It just makes a senseless mess. More than it already is I mean.

Was excellent from the get go. I can see a premier league side, say a Brighton, putting in for him.

on City. Have we lost Adama Traore already to injury? Ironically he sounds like a player, from the past, with the same initials. One Alton Thelwell. Referred to by all as Unwell. Good forbid we've signed another sicknote.

I believe it's not serious more precautionary, he obviously is a bit off getting match fit. Tan has already mentioned for fans need to give him time to get up to speed, so clearly, he has a bit to go before he is ready to play games.

In some ways I agree it's not worth arguing the toss over, but on the other hand some are already undermining the new regime with their comments and also lauding the Allams for being really good business owners. Sorry but that's just not right.

Don't bother you won't change it.

I changed along time ago even at work. Stop worrying about things you can't change and bother with those you can.

Regarding Honeyman (and Greaves) and Tans comments. Firstly, you confirm, as we know, you don't know what's been on the table. Secondly, exactly as I said, they have obviously assessed Honeymans worth to the club and were not prepared to pay more.
Tan said he offered Honeyman double his existing money. Is that lowballing? Who knows, certainly not you.

As you say though, they assessed his value as not more than double what the Allams gave him.

Did he say he offered him double? Must have missed that bit in the interview, I heard him say that he tried to fix the Allams deal but didn't offer Honeyman enough money.

But that's all relative. Assuming he was on something like £5k with us, offering him £10k is all well and good but when the average championship wage is about £16k and he had a decent season, there's going to be someone who'll give him more.

I'd be curious about what we offered Seri, Traore, Tufan, etc. Would think while Honeyman is clearly a rung below them, if what was offered to each was substantially different that could be rather frustrating to existing players. The worry then is you end up with a split in the dressing room with the have and the have nots.
