I agree. Chris Wetherspoons part of the athletic now and I imagine his words are a bit more measured now.

Be a lot more than £30 million if they mad enough to sell him.

He’s going to be top end the lad. He’s a beast.

Just about 19. After season he just had in Bundesliga be gobsmacked if he went under £50m. Bayern want him, so I imagine he goes there.

Geertruida on the stats is a defensive action monster, is competent in 3 positions

I'm not sure geertruida is on the eye or in the stats a defensive monster, he's either overly aggressive or too passive and for me has struggled to find that balance game to game.

Dan has been exceptional this season so has Nordi, so has Alderete who is often overlooked, and weirdly LON is probably our most improved player and he deserves every bit of recognition he gets.
I think Hume was really good in the last 3/4 games and I was critical before that! Just shows how clever RLB is.
Obviously the Arsenal CB are in the headlines and rightly so, I just hope nobody has noticed how good Ours have been.

Totally different players, I think Mukiele is technically the better player but Ballard is a physical monster he really stepped up last season. Difficult to choose between the two but arguably Alderete is also very physically sound and Mukiele would offer us pace in the CB pairing.

Mukiele at RB is better than Hume imo. Hume is a proper old fashioned full back, great defensively but not very good going forward whereas Mukiele is much better offensively.

Geertruida is a difficult one too. He didn’t really do anything to impress up until march but he looked a player towards the end of the season. I wonder if we’ll see a back four of Geertruida, Mukiele, Alderete and Reinaldo next season - providing we sign him obviously. Already a fair bit of European experience in there and two full backs who love getting forward.

True. I think he would do OK in the PL but what level within there is a big question.

In the right team, with the right role, he could look very good. Everton may have a Hackney-shaped hole in their team for him!
 
I see City have put Reinjders on the transfer market, but he’s said he wants to stay in the PL.

I wonder if we might have a look at him. Occupies a position we need to strengthen and he’s one of those midfielders that can do a bit of everything, which would be very handy given we’ll be stretched next year. Our big Dutch contingent might be attractive to him, as well.

Would obviously hugely depend on fee and wages mind, can’t imagine he’ll be cheap.

Would be a phenomenal signing.

Imagine his salary makes it a non starter.

It's a shame that signing for a huge club can really hurt a player's career. Not only can they not get in the team but other clubs later have problems affording them.

Always a loan option, I suppose.

Whilst I take your point in relation to pace sometimes a good footballing brain can negate that.
I agree we need better players to compete regularly in Europe but there may still be some growth in the players that we already have.
Time will tell.

Can't argue with that.

I'd love for Hume to step up again to save us money.
